Title: God's Grace in the Way of Suffering

Contents

▒▒▒ Luke 22:47~53

A crowd came to the Garden of Gethsemane to arrest Jesus. Among the crowd was the high priest's servant Malchus. Judas Iscariot betrays Jesus by kissing him on the cheek. Then the crowd tries to arrest Jesus. Then, in the dark, someone raised a sword and struck Malchus, and his ear was cut off. Malchus didn't come for Jesus' sake. On the contrary, he came to arrest Jesus. But Jesus attaches the fallen ears of those who came to seize him. This is grace. Grace is given to those who do not receive grace. Jesus showed great grace to the man who came to arrest him, who did not deserve it. After all, Malchus, who almost lived as a man without ears, became a man with ears.

In Luke 9, the scene where Jesus was active in Galilee went toward Jerusalem is recorded. On the way you will pass through Samaria. But the Samaritans did not allow Jesus to go through the road. John and James say excitedly, “Jesus, will fire come down from heaven and consume them all?” Then Jesus rebuked his disciples and said, “Do you not know me? I did not come to destroy the world, but to save.”

Peter hurt him by speaking and acting like a bullet without knowing God's will. After realizing the meaning of Jesus' words, he had to speak and act, but Peter hurt others by speaking and acting immediately in response to Jesus' words. However, Jesus paid for all of Peter's errors with grace and freely and changed him into a new person. Jesus showed grace to Peter from the way of suffering on the cross to the end.

Peter, who makes many mistakes, changes. Later, he realizes that he has hurt others and repents. In 1 Peter, he said, "All the laws of the world are for the Lord's sake, so obey them." Says. He confesses, “We were called to be conformed to Jesus, and when Jesus was reviled, he did not revile; when threatened, he received all of them without a word.” Furthermore, 1 Peter 4 says, “In your life, you must never be troubled by harming, hurting, or meddling in other people’s affairs.”
