Title: God's Great Forgiveness/Acts 10:39-43
I've been inside a coffin. And I tried to close the lid of the coffin. I've had the experience of putting me in a coffin and some people carrying the coffin and going out to the grave. You will probably be surprised. A long time ago, we had a sports day at our church, and during the sports day, there was a disguised procession as an event that appeared in the Bible. At that time, when Jesus enters the city of Nain, he meets a funeral procession. A widow's only son dies and goes to a funeral. When Jesus saw the procession, he stopped, touched the coffin, and said, “I tell you, get up,” and he comes to life. We staged this event, and I became the dead son and went into the coffin.
I've only been in the coffin for a few minutes, but I still can't forget that experience. If Jesus did not resurrect and ended up dying on the cross, our lives would end in vain. If everything ends with death, the powerful will take away what others have and live with more pleasure. If death were the end of everything, our life would have no meaning, no joy, no reward.
But because Jesus was resurrected, we come to realize that death is not the end of our lives. Jesus Resurrection My resurrection, Jesus life, I am convinced that it is my life. The resurrection of Jesus became the first fruits of life. Even after thousands of years, the apple tree continues to bear its fruit. The same is true of the pear tree, and the same is true of the persimmon tree. Because Jesus became the firstfruits of the resurrection, we believe that we, like Jesus, will overcome the power of death. What I foretell clearly is that apple trees continue to open apples. In the pear tree, the boat continues to open. Likewise, when you are connected to Jesus, you will reap the fruits of eternal life.
The text of this text is from Peter's sermon at Cornelius's house. The essence of the sermon is the resurrection of Jesus. The Jews crucified Jesus in Jerusalem. God raised us back to life on the third day, and has chosen us to be witnesses of the resurrection. Anyone who believes in the risen Lord receives forgiveness of sins. This is the content of the gospel. It is the core of the gospel.
The clear truth that can be found in these words is that the resurrection of Jesus is the great event of God's forgiveness. Suffering washes away sins. An eraser erases a pencil, but tears wash the heart. The suffering of Jesus is for our sins, and through the resurrection of Jesus, we are convinced that all our sins are forgiven. I definitely believe The resurrection is God's great event of forgiveness.
The law makes us realize that we are sinners. Suppose a man with no social education descended into a civilized world in the deep mountains. This person has no idea what a traffic light is or where to put the toilet paper. Even if you cross the red light, you won't think you've done anything wrong. You won't feel any guilt. But we are not. If you accidentally break a signal while driving, did the police not see you? A sense of urgency arises In this way, the law makes us realize our mistakes. So is the law. Through the law God has given us, we realize that we are sinners before God.
However, there are two ways to solve this sin. One is to pay the penalty for sin. He will be punished as much as he has committed. Either pay a fine or go to jail. But the Bible teaches us that the price of sin is death. The consequence of sin is that death must pay the price. The second way to get rid of sins is to be forgiven. I borrowed someone else's money and I can't pay it back. Then, the only way is to pay the price of the sin instead of not being able to pay it back, or to receive forgiveness through forgiveness.
Jesus died on the cross to pay for my sins. In the words of Jesus on the cross, “It is finished!” This means that the payment has been completed. It is the cry of Jesus that I have paid the full price for your sins. And Jesus rose from the dead on the third day. The content of the gospel is that all sins are forgiven to those who believe in Jesus.
Therefore, the resurrection of Jesus is the great event of God's forgiveness. It means that through the resurrection of Jesus, all my sins have been forgiven.
However, there is a big difference between a sinner and a forgiven person. Those who sin have no freedom. You can't go anywhere, and you lose the freedom to hide and be imprisoned. But the forgiven person is freed. The same is true of the textual expression. To be forgiven has the meaning of true freedom from bondage. Forgiveness is the release of bondage you can get freedom. Lazarus died. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. When Lazarus came alive from the tomb, his hands, feet, and his whole body were tied up with sackcloth. I couldn't move my mind. Jesus said to Lazarus, “Let it go and let it go.” let it go and let it go
We are no longer bound by sin. The resurrection of Jesus is God's great event of forgiveness and God's gift that gives us true freedom.
Jesus was buried in a tomb. The doors were made of stone, the seals were sealed, and the Roman soldiers kept them, but all in vain. No one could stop the resurrection of Jesus. The Roman government tried to stop it, but could not. Seals were sealed and kept, but all were in vain. Even the Roman government could not prevent the resurrection of Jesus.
What is oppressing you? What is holding you back? The event of Jesus' resurrection is the great event of God's forgiveness, and the great event of God that sets us free from all that oppresses us. It is God's great victory to free us from any fear and fear in this world.
A man named Napoleon Hill said that there are 7 types of anxiety or fear in modern people. There are fear of poverty, fear of failure, fear of disease, fear of losing love, fear of old age, anxiety about loss of freedom, and fear of death. But it is clear that Jesus has given us true freedom. Because of Jesus, we are able to overcome all of this and win.
Perhaps it is the fear of death that threatens and suppresses everyone. But it is clear that everyone dies. dies without exception. But death does not oppress us. We believe that the only way to be free from the fear of death is faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The resurrection of Jesus freed us from the fear and bondage of death.
A new believer passed away last week. He died at the young age of 43. By the time I started going to church in mid-February, it was already a dark time. I was baptized on the sickbed, and I promised God that I will keep Sundays until the day I die and go to the Lord. He left his two children to evangelize until the last moment, kept last Palm Sunday and passed away on Monday. However, as this man was dying, a deacon placed the cross in his hand. He held on to the cross of the Lord until the last moment of his death. After he died, he opened his hands and found traces of the cross on the palms of his hands. The cross and resurrection of Jesus are the power to overcome the fear of death. set you free from death
In addition to death, we also live with anxiety about failure. What if this fails? Some people will actually fail and there will be others who are caught up in a sense of defeat. Obviously, everyone fails. There is no one who has not experienced failures, big and small, in their own way. However, there are those who live in a sense of defeat because they think it is over because of failure. I can't, I can't, I'm done, how can I do this, I failed. How many people have been enslaved to the thought that I am defeated? The resurrection of Jesus frees us from such thoughts of defeat. Just as Jesus was crucified and resurrected, so I will rise again.
Look around us. How many people live in bondage to false idols? Even in the computer generation, there are many young people who depend on their fortune. How many people in the world wander without knowing the true freedom forgiven? We must preach the news of the resurrection of Jesus. Through the resurrection of Jesus, I have to be forgiven and I must tell them that I have true freedom in my life.
Dear saint! Jesus was resurrected. The event of the resurrection is the event of God's great forgiveness. It is an event of forgiveness for all mankind. It is an event of God's great forgiveness for me. I want to be a witness to the resurrection who is convinced that the Lord has forgiven me and has given me true freedom.
