Title: God's Great Plan of Salvation/Ephesians 1
Content God's Great Plan of Salvation
Ephesians 1
1. Praise God's plan of salvation (1-14)
① Blessing of Choice (5)
From before the foundation of the world, God the Father sent the saints to make them holy and without blemish, giving them the grace of predestination to become His children. Predestination does not mean “to decide your destiny in advance”, but “plans in advance” and refers to the plan of salvation that God has already chosen from among many human beings to enter into Christ from eternity.
The only basis for God's election is Jesus Christ. The saints who have received the blessing of election must live holy and without blemish.
② Blessing of adoption (5)
God has chosen the saints in Christ to be his own sons. It is the blessing of adoption brought about by the blessing of election, and it is entirely by the loving will of God.
Humanity, who had been God's enemy and child of wrath, was able to inherit the inheritance by receiving the blessing of adoption through the election through Christ's resurrection.
③ Blessing of Unification (10)
God, who chose the saints and adopted them, also gave them wisdom and understanding so that they might know the mystery of His will, so that they might know God's plan in Christ.
Sealed with the Holy Spirit (13).
2. Paul's Prayer for Knowledge (15-23)
① Paul’s thanksgiving and prayer
Thanks for the faith and love of the Ephesians
pray for the progress of their faith
Pray earnestly to have a right knowledge of God. (17)
What is the hope of the calling?
What is the riches of the glory of the inheritance God has given?
What is the great power of God
application for right knowledge
② The greatness of God's power
God's power is revealed in Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, and can be found in the place where the dying people are transformed into God's holy people.
③ The relationship between Christ and the church
Christ, who rules all things, is the head of the church. The church is his body. Therefore, Christ and the church are one organism.
