Title: God's Help

God's help

Psalm 121:1-2

"I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where will my help come from? My help is from the LORD, who made the heavens and the earth."

After graduating from high school, Mr. Oh graduated from a very small local university. Born in Nohwa-do, which is more accessible by boat from Wando, he finally passed the first test with excellent results after six years of challenging the bar exam. However, I ruined the first hour of the second exam. I could not think of an answer, and my condition was not good. I was more worried about the disappointment of my father, who waited for me for 6 years, not my problem. I called my father and begged for forgiveness, saying that I had missed the first test and I am sorry for disappointing you again this year. The father heard her cry and said, “Dear daughter, do not lose heart and do well in the rest of your exams. From next Sunday, this father will not go to church.” The father immediately registered with the church, and to his surprise, he received the second notice of passing the bar exam for his daughter. The father did everything he could to support his daughter, but realized that he did not seek God's help for one thing, so he resumed his religious life that had been suspended for 20 years. Faith is a miracle. Faith is grace.

“Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 124:8).

General Moses Diane, who led the Israeli army during the Middle East War, also known as the Six Day War, made a declaration that shocked the world. Diane declared that he had a new weapon to win the war against the Arab Allies, which had a population 100 times larger. Because of that, Israel was guaranteed to win the war. People around the world thought it must be a new weapon that surpassed the atomic bomb or hydrogen bomb. However, General Moses Diane announced that “the new weapon that will give us victory is Psalm 121.” In the end, the war ended with Israel's victory in just six days.

The pilgrims on their way to Jerusalem for the feast encountered a high mountain standing in their way, but they knew that God was the one who made the mountain and realized that only God had a way to help. It is because God is the one who provides all the problems of the universe so that even a flying sparrow does not fall. God does not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear, but when we are tempted, He will surely give us a way of escape.

"Help us against our enemies, for man's salvation is in vain. We trust in God and walk valiantly, for he is the one who will tread down our enemies" (Psalm 60:11-12).

If you look at the Chinese character (person), the two strokes depend on each other. Without one, the other must fall. Humans are dependent beings who can stand upright only when they help each other and get help. Strictly speaking, there is not a single person on the planet who lives alone without anyone's help. When you are young, you need the help of your mother, when you are older, you need the help of a teacher, then you need the help of friends, relatives, and seniors. Not only that, when you are ill, you need to seek help from a doctor, and in order to lead a life of food, clothing, shelter, and culture, you get help from all kinds of manufacturers, manufacturers, and vendors.

What can we rely on to overcome the difficulties we face in life? How can you overcome when you are in a desperate situation where you can't expect any help? No matter how you look at it, everything we can achieve in the world has its limits. Only God knows our circumstances, and He is a refuge from which we can escape anytime, anywhere. Because He has an eternal, not a finite world.

“In You, O LORD, I take refuge; do not let me be put to shame forever; in Your righteousness deliver me; incline to me and deliver me quickly; become to me a strong rock and a guarantee of salvation” (Psalm 31:1-2).

Who will help you the most? parental help, teacher's help. Boss help. President's help. All of these will be of great help. Among them, if the President directly helps me, there will be nothing to fear in the world. But even if the president is my father, he can't give us the help we really need. You cannot take responsibility for your life. It cannot guide tomorrow. It cannot prevent accidents, diseases and disasters. Helping people is limited. It is because they themselves are insufficient beings who live with help. Do you feel like you are surrounded by something and you are stuck in all directions? I'm afraid. But that has always been the case. In that case, look up. And take a good look. The help I need comes from Jehovah, the Maker of heaven and earth. Get help from God. With God's help, the Red Sea parted and springs overflowed from the rock.

“Blessed is he who makes the God of Jacob his help, and whose hope is in the Lord his God” (Psalm 146:5).

With the help of the Almighty, I hope that you will overcome the difficult world and lead a blessed life where you always win.

* Prayer: Almighty Heavenly Father! Our lives in this world are very difficult and painful. Where can we turn and turn to for help? Because the God who made the heavens and the earth loves us, we can ask God for help. Thank you. We also thank God for giving us infinite grace and wishing us well. Help us to always depend on You and live with peace of mind and great joy. We are so grateful that we can seek God's help. May we always remember that the answer to all our problems is only with God. Help me to turn to God in trouble. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen!

* Hymn (1): (433) I lifted up my eyes and saw the mountain

1. I lift up my eyes and see the mountains. Wherever help comes, the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, helps me. You break your feet from stumbling. You keep your chosen people at all times and protect the way.

2. The God who helps is your shade. The sun in the daytime and the moon in the room will not hurt you. He will not harm you, He will protect your soul, He will guide you in and out from now on forever.

* Hymn (2): (Chapter 73) I lifted up my eyes and looked all around.

1. I lifted up my eyes and looked all around, it is a mountain, and I am sure that the salvation that helps me comes from where and where the LORD, who made the heavens and the earth, helps me.

2. The Lord watches over me wherever I go, and keeps watch without slumber, and keeps watch over Israel without ceasing.

3. The LORD is my protector, and he keeps me at all times, and covers it with his right wing, so that the sun does not harm him during the day, and the moon does not harm him by night.

4. The Lord protects and takes care of my soul, and relieves me of all my troubles. He keeps me always. From this day forward and forever, the Lord will watch over you going in and out. Amen.
