Title: God's Interest (Luke 15-8)
Content People in this world like things that are visible/big things/beneficial to them. However, Jesus is a person who is interested in what is lacking and what is not enough and searches for it. It is said that the shepherd who seeks the sheep is the work of the Son Jesus, the Holy Spirit works to find and restore lost money, and the image of a father waiting for his son is the image of God the Father. It shows that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are working hard to restore us. The sheep, money, and son here refer to the children of God. That means the saints. It is the fields that have lost the sheep. The place where money is lost is at home. It is society or generation that has lost a son.
1. The house is the church of God
I lost drachma here in the house. But at home. It is in the house, but out of the hands of its owner. Money has value when it is in the hands of its owner. Theologian Calvin said that man is a God-dependent creature. Humans are happy when they are in a right relationship with God.
2. Money is God's children.
In verse 10, money means lost sinners. God wants to maintain a right relationship with those who do not know God's grace in the church. There are many such believers in the church today. It does not go beyond the boundaries of the church. But it has nothing to do with the owner or the church. Money lost in the family refers to children who are in the church but lose their value and use and wander. They are like precious money, but God seeks out those who have become useless and makes them useful.
3. Money has an image.
A picture or statue representing a native stock is engraved on the coin. The drachma depicts an owl, a turtle, or statues of kings. It symbolizes the country that made money, or it is the statue of a monarch. In the same way, the image of God is drawn on our children of God. Because it is in darkness, it cannot be seen. Here you put a seal that you belong to me. When the lamp of truth is lit, it can show true beauty and precious value.
4. Light a lamp.
Many Jewish homes did not have windows. It's under the bright sun, but it's dark. That's why I often have to turn on the light when working during the day. I can't even do it in broad daylight. Because there are no windows. It turns on the light because there are no windows to receive the light. Rather than blaming a dark house, God turns on the light. Here fire refers to the Holy Spirit. We live in the age of bright truth, but our hearts are dark because we have closed the door of our hearts. At this time, the Lord comes into the heart and begins to light the light of truth. He works with the truth and works through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to make us believe in Jesus.
5. Search diligently.
He said, "Will you not diligently search for it so that you can sweep the house and find it?" Diligence is a word that speaks diligently and diligently until the end (epimelws). God is looking for you without giving up until the very end with diligence and sincerity lighting a lamp. God never gives up.
6. He excretes a feast (10).
I'm glad I found the drachma. Call your neighbors. It's about having a party and having fun together. God is waiting for the sinner to repent and return to the bosom of the Lord. I love you. We want to share the fun together. This is because you are a child of God that cannot be exchanged with the universe. Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and sup with him, and he with me. God cares about His people who do not show their face before Him. I love you. Have true happiness and wait.
