Title: God's Judgment is Perfect
2 Thessalonians (2) God's judgment is perfect (2 Thessalonians 1:6-10)
< God worthy of praise >
God is worthy of praise. What should we praise for? Some praises have self-confession as the theme, but basically, ‘God’s salvation’ should be the true theme of praise. Along with God's salvation, there is another important topic of praise. It is ‘God’s judgment’. Why is God's judgment a subject of praise? Because God's judgment is true and righteous.
What is the referee? Simply put, it is to release the grievances of the saints. How much emotional pain is it when you see people who are successful in doing bad things and having no difficulty in committing evil at will? Why can we praise judgment? This is because when Jesus comes again, He will take care of all the wrong things in the world that we saw on that day, so we will see clearly the judgment of righteousness and injustice according to injustice.
When we think of Jesus' righteous judgment that will unfold in the future, we can endure unjust suffering. Judgment is a terrible and formidable event for unbelievers, but for sincere believers it is a glorious event that cannot but be praised with joy. I get excited just thinking about that judgment waiting in front of us.
Sometimes, when I see a faithful person in the church having a hard time, sometimes it hurts so much that I feel sad and pray. "God! I hope that the work of such a faithful saint goes well quickly, so why do the difficulties continue? God! Why must a saint as pure and faithful as he have to go through so hard?”
I know that there is a good will of God in those trials, but when I see them still in trials, there is always a sad core in my heart. How do you unravel the core? It will be released through the righteous judgment of Jesus who will return. As that day approaches, we cannot but praise the judgment.
< God's judgment is perfect >
God is a just God. God makes you reap what you sow (verse 6). Why should we not repay evil for evil and leave it to God? If you leave it to God, God will repay you better than when you try to pay it back on your own. Like the Thessalonians, Paul's missionary team suffered extreme tribulation, but the God of justice repaid them with rest (verse 7). For the saints, suffering is not in vain, but the path to true rest.
When will God's righteous judgment be fulfilled? It is time for Jesus to return in flames from heaven with his angels. At that time, those who reject God will be punished with eternal destruction, and Jesus will receive great glory (verses 8-10). Then why do people glorify Jesus? The fact that Jesus has returned is important, but especially after the Second Coming, we will be glorified to see the amazingly just judgments.
Don't be too discouraged by the continuing hardships in your life, even with faithful faith and dedication. When the time is right, God will clearly show that you reap what you sow. Then he said, “Oh! That's why it was!” will constantly come out of your lips, giving glory to the God of Justice. When the day comes when Jesus will reign as King, the disappointment and injustice in all the world will be completely resolved.
There was a woman who gave birth to nine children and her husband died while the youngest was in the womb. Although she lived in poverty and hardship, she never once complained about her condition before God all her life. On the day of his death, after the Sunday service, he sang at the church for about two hours, and then died right after he returned home. As we lived in the midst of such overflowing joy and hope, the nine siblings were able to lead successful lives together.
No matter what situation, circumstance, circumstance, or circumstance you encounter, always sing joyfully and live in hope of the day you will meet God. If you always believe and be sure of the salvation that Jesus has given you and the righteous judgment that will unfold in the future, you will be filled with joy and peace regardless of circumstances. Always thinking of God's perfect salvation and perfect judgment, be blessed hearts with endless joy and peace in your heart.
