Title: God's Merciful Covenant

content agment>

God's Merciful Covenant (Psalm 106:1-48)

1. Humans are by nature weak and fallen sinners (verses 1-5).

(1) human fragility, (2) human depravity and corruption, (3) human wounds

The psalmist praises God for His goodness and mercy.

What kind of place is God's mercy and compassion? (verses 3-5)

2. If we do not remember the mercy of God, we will sin (verses 6-15).

(1) The salvation of the people of Israel was accomplished by crossing the Red Sea (verses 7-12), but Israel had forgotten God's mercy.

(2) Miracles never allow sinners to walk with God forever (verses 13, 14). So God makes poor souls who do not wait for His teaching (verse 15). Therefore, we must repent of our sins and try not to forget them (verse 6).

3. The sin of complaining (verses 16-18, 32-33)

(1) The sin of forgetting grace actually leads to complaints and dissatisfaction rather than gratitude and joy in reality. The incident where Dathan and Abiram formed a party and became jealous of Moses and Aaron (verses 16-18) and the sin of the Israelites complaining about lack of water to drink (verses 32-33).

(2) Even today, if we forget God's grace, we will commit the sin of complaining and murmuring. You must see the hand of God working through your environment (2 Corinthians 4:17-18).

4. The sin of worshiping idols (vv. 19-31, 34-43).

(1) Israel's sin of murmuring and dissatisfaction with God was the sin of serving idols. In the text, the famous idolatry incidents include the golden calf incident on Mount Sinai (verses 19-27) and the incident of Baal-peor in Moab (verses 28-31).

(2) If we neglect to serve idols, we become a snare to ourselves (verses 34-43).

5. Humans need God's mercy and mercy (verses 43-48).

(1) The grace of good works is the grace that God comes to us.

(2) God saves sinners through His love and compassion. We are sinners who could not but be annihilated without God's mercy and mercy. Nevertheless, he gives us hope (verses 44-46). When we pray, God takes care of our suffering, remembers the covenant for us, turns away the will of wrath and punishment, and grants us mercy.

What parts do you need God's kindness and mercy for? May God's love overflow.

We must acknowledge that we are by nature weak and fallen sinners and do not forget God's kindness and mercy. And I hope you will cast away the sin of complaining and idolatry and decide to become a person who seeks only God's kindness and mercy. And if I participate in this 40-day campaign of love as I decide to restore the first love of Christ, I will become a praiser of the holy name of God.
