Title: God's Predestination. Sunday, July 17, 2005 Sermon.
God is a providential God. Therefore, God predestined, decreed, and chose us. This means that He has taken us out of the fallen human race, that time goes back to before eternity, that is, before eternity. And God sets us apart and gives us the blessings that lead us to eternal blessing, that is, eternal salvation, leading to true glory.
Look at Ephesians 1:4-14. Let's read it together.
(If you look here, the word “plan” appears 3 times)
Look at Jeremiah 1:4-5. The word of the LORD came to me. He said to them, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born I set you apart, and I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.
Psalm 139: 13-16. Thou hast made my books; thou hast organized me in my womb. I thank you for giving me, because God created me. My soul knows well that your works are marvelous. When I was wrought in secret, and marvelously crafted in the depths of the earth, my form was not hidden from you. Thy eyes saw my form before it was formed, and all the days ordained for me were written in Thy book before a single one came.
Let's go back to the main text and look at the last verse, verse 30.
And those whom he predestined he called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. Everything went according to God's plan. God's plan is very meticulous. And all of these words are in the past tense.
Some criticize the doctrine of God's predestination and election. So, why does God give grace to some people through predestination and election and pass it on to others? I say this. However, this does not mean that God is unfair. Because the sinner has absolutely no claims or rights to the blessings that result from God's election. In fact, sinners have already lost all the blessings. Guys, we need to know this. Whatever it is, God's predestination and election are not subject to change according to human will or actions. This is by the absolute sovereignty of God and by the will of God Himself, and the purpose of selection is ultimately to glorify God.
Therefore, on the other hand, in God's election and calling, we must have an answer.
We must accept Jesus Christ as our Savior. And throughout our lives, our devotion must be to our holy God. In Romans 9:14, then what shall we say? Is there iniquity with God? I can't. Amen.
