Contents

Romans 2:1~11 God's Principle on Judgment Topic: 29. Judgment 2005. 5. 29.

Introduction

: Romans 2 discusses judging, judging others, God's judgment, self-righteousness, moralists, and legalists.

1. Background: Moralist (1) 2. Perfect Justice (2~5) 3. Eternal Reward or Punishment (6~10) 4. Absolute Fairness (11~15)

1. Background: Moralist (1)

They are thieves and people who lead a clean life. But the reason they judge others is that they don't live the way he ought to live.

One). Moralists judge others.

“Judge” means to criticize, gossip, or condemn, which is a fatal flaw of moralists.

Attention: Anyone who judges others and puts out their own point of view becomes a moralist.

2). The moralist has no excuse and condemns himself for doing the same.

He fails just as the person he judged has failed (Romans 2:1, 1 Corinthians 10:13).

In God's eyes, sin is a matter of the heart and mind, not just actions.

Sin, whether a thought of the heart or a public act, falls short of the glory of God.

All people are sinners before God. Therefore, we should not judge, criticize or gossip about others. (Matthew 7:3, Romans 2:21-22, Gal 2:14, Titus 1:16)

Think of a time when everyone's tongue is silent. How different would the world be?
