Title: God's Question
Contents
In the Bible, there are many scenes where God directly calls people and asks questions. 'Where are you?', 'Where is your brother?', 'What have you seen?', 'What is in your hand?' You ask well.
Now, in the text, he also asked Adam. Adam shifts the blame to Eve, and then asks Eve again. However, when Eve shifted the blame to the beast, he cursed it at once without asking the beast. Human beings created in God's image are the primates of all things and are personal beings, so this is God's question.
The same goes for us. When we are not in the right place or when we cannot carry out our mission, it is God's work to remind us by calling our names and sometimes calling our titles so that we are surprised by saying, 'Who are you, where are you now?' Mercy, God's grace.
This saying, ‘Where are you?’ is asking the subject of the case first.
If people aren't where they should be, it's not up to par. It is not appropriate to say that a fish must be in the water to be in a mountain, or a tree must be in a mountain to be in the sea. Songchung must eat pine needles for a living. ‘Why do I have to eat only pine needles for a living? Let's eat some mulberry leaves like that silkworm.' If you eat mulberry leaves, you will die.
The caterpillars eat pine needles, the silkworms eat mulberry leaves, and the saints should come to church on Sundays to worship. For example, if you go to a bar at this time, or use the money you have to give to God and spend it on the wrong thing, it is not appropriate.
At that time, God asks, ‘Where are you?’ As a human being, you are asking. Don't ask the beasts. This is a question that asks where the mission is.
Consider Moses. While they were leading Jethro's flock through the fields of Mount Horeb, God suddenly called, "Moses!" The voice of God was heard in the flames of the thorns. I looked around in amazement, and God said, "Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy."
However, the site had been herding sheep not so long ago. This is the place where the dirt was dumped. But it is a holy place because God is there.
You have to take off your shoes.
God is always asking about the current status of our mission. At the desk where we study, it is usually the same as other people, but if we think of the Lord and read the Bible and pray at that desk, that place is a holy place. The housewife is not busy singing hymns and washing the dishes, but is worshiping.
God did not distinguish between holy places and lowly places. If there is a mess in the chapel, that place is the devil's place, and if you worship God in the name of Jesus even on the street, it is a holy place. Therefore, this verse is a question asking about the present state of our thoughts, and it is a question about the present state of time.
Our thoughts can be winged, allowing our imaginations to fly far and wide. My body is worshiping inside the church, but my heart can think of my son in America. I can think of my daughter in Australia. You can think of Ulleungdo, Jeju Island, or Japan where you went on your last trip. While worshiping, you can have different thoughts. At that time, God asks, "Who are you! What are you thinking about now?"
God is asking the current state of our thoughts. You are asking for the current state of time. If we do not have the Lord in our thoughts, the Lord keeps asking questions. You can think about the past or you can think about the future at this time. But the Lord is always telling us to be loyal to reality.
This saying, “Where are you?” is a question that awakens us to our sins and asks where we are responsible for our sins. When people sin, they shift the blame like Adam and Eve. God doesn't want that. All you have to do is say, 'It's my fault, I was wrong'. Constantly shifting responsibility is not an answer to the question God is asking.
But above all else, these words express God's love. If God does not love, He will give up. But, because He loves us, to show mercy and correct our crooked path, we ask, 'Who are you, what do you think now?', 'Where are you going?', 'Where are you now?', 'Where are you now?' Are you in your seat or are you in the wrong place?' Hear this voice right away and remember these three things:
"Lord, it is in the Word." This should be our first answer. Wherever we are, we must be in the Word, not outside the Word.
“Lord, I am in the truth. This is the second answer. You are asking us to live the truth.
"Lord, I am before you." Third answer.
The Lord said, "Where are you?" When asking a question, we must honestly answer these three questions. I pray that you will become members of the family who always live confidently with these three answers. Amen.
