2. Daniel's Dream Interpretation
1) The king orders Daniel to interpret the dream
When none of the wise men of Babylon could interpret King Nebuchadnezzar's dream, Daniel named Belteshazzar appeared before the king. King Nebuchadnezzar told Daniel the contents of the dream, stating that he knew that no secret would be difficult because he had the spirit of the holy gods. The king had confidence in Daniel because he knew he was full of the Holy Spirit. In this way, those who are filled with the Spirit of God will be recognized by people and cause people to glorify God. As Nebuchadnezzar stated, Daniel's knowledge of secrets was not the result of human wisdom or power. It was only to receive the Spirit of God's wisdom and to understand the mysteries.
a. A secret that only God can see (Daniel 2:11)
b. Those who have received the Holy Ghost (Isaiah 63:11)
c. God came upon Moses (Numbers 11:17)
2) Daniel's Dream Interpretation
a. The Lord reveals the mystery (Amos 3:7)
b. The majestic one who will be cut down (Isaiah 10:33)
c. The Lord who sits on the throne of glory (Matthew 25:31)
3. Nebuchadnezzar's Dream Fulfillment and Repentance
1) Nebuchadnezzar acted proudly
a. God who does not exaggerate (Numbers 23:19)
b. God opposes the proud (1 Peter 5:5)
c. Pride is the spearhead of destruction (Proverbs 16:18).
2) A king who is disciplined and repents
At the same time as the voice of God's judgment was heard from King Nebuchadnezzar, it fell upon King Nebuchadnezzar. So King Nebuchadnezzar was driven out by men, and he ate grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, and his hair became like the hair of an eagle, and his nails like the claws of birds. Through this, Nebuchadnezzar came to know the power of Jehovah, the God of Israel, by personally experiencing the fulfillment of Hannum's prophecy. When King Nebuchadnezzar came to fear God after being disciplined for seven years, God restored his understanding. So King Nebuchadnezzar gave thanks and praise to the Most High God.
a. Humble the proud (Exodus 18:11)
b. Fear the Lord with humility (Proverbs 22:4).
c. Knowing that there is no one like you (Exodus 8:10)
conclusion
Believers should always acknowledge the sovereignty of God, who rules over all things, walk humbly before God, and receive the blessing of prosperity by obeying God's Word. Also, like Daniel, by being filled with the Holy Spirit and possessing the wisdom of God, we must be used preciously as an instrument of God's work of redemption.
