Subject: God's Salvation/Ephesians 2:18-20

Because of the fall of the first man, Adam, all human beings became sinful. died because of sin.

How hopeless would it be if the fate of life ended with this? But God is both a God of justice and a God of mercy. He opened the way to salvation, that is, to those who sinned and had no other choice but to perish as a result of their sins. This is called God's salvation.

Therefore, did God allow all men to perish in a state of sin and misery? Afterward, he answered, "God only, according to his good will, from eternity, chose some to eternal life, and established the covenant of grace to deliver them from their sinful and wretched state through the Redeemer, and to bring them to the place of salvation. "He said.

Also, the 30th question of the Grand Order answers in more detail that God did not generally allow man to perish in his fallen sin and wretched state because of the breaking of the first covenant of works, but, out of God's pure love and mercy, brought his elect from there. He said that he brought them into a state of salvation through the second covenant, commonly called the covenant of grace.

God's salvation is as follows.

1. God saves by election before eternity.

Ephesians 1:4-5 says that he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world... according to his pleasure he predestined us... to be his sons.

Acts 13:48 It is said that all who were ordained to eternal life believed. God's salvation is by choice.

What is the timing of that choice? It is an eternal choice. It means before creation.

Eternal choice also refers to the inevitability of that choice. It means that God is true and that choice cannot be undone forever.

In addition, the eternal selection refers to the constancy of the selection. It indicates that God's plan for salvation does not change.

It means that it is immutable and transcends time.

It also implies the meaning of pre-planned salvation.

2. God establishes the covenant of grace to save.

The covenant of grace has the opposite character of the covenant of works. A contract of works is a contract of works that requires that one must do something deserving of merit in order to obtain what is promised, whereas a contract of grace is a contract of grace when one obtains what is promised without any requirement.

The covenant that Adam made with God in the Garden of Eden through the fruit of good and evil is the covenant of works, but the covenant of salvation through faith in Christ the Mediator is the covenant of grace.

In contrast, the 13th verse of the Great Ritual says that the covenant of grace was made with Christ, the last Adam, and all his chosen people.

According to the 32nd verse of the Great Book, God's grace is in the second covenant (grace), God freely prepared an intermediary between Korea and sinners and provided it to sinners.

Oh, he said, He gives life and salvation.

Luke 22:20 says that this cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

Matthew 26:28 says that this is my blood of the covenant, which is shed for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Hebrews 9:15 says that for this he was the mediator of the new covenant, that those who were called by death to atone for the sins committed in the first covenant... might receive the promise of an eternal inheritance.

Why is God's salvation by grace?

Why does God accomplish the salvation of sinners through the covenant of grace? (1) Because he saves from total corruption.

Total corruption refers to the total depravity of human nature.

Romans 3:11 There is none righteous, not even one.

Romans 3:23 It is said that all have sinned.

Therefore, it means that those who do not have the qualifications or room to be saved. He saved these unqualified people, and therefore God's salvation is through the covenant of grace.

(2) It is because salvation is achieved through unconditional election.

It is salvation through the covenant of grace, because he saved only a certain number of sinners who were totally corrupt and who were all corrupt, but he saved them unconditionally and chose them unconditionally.

(3) It is because the roast is limited.

Not all humans are saved. Not all sinners are saved. Only the elect are saved. It's not unlimited, it's limited.

Matthew 22:14 Few are chosen.

John 10:26 You do not believe because you are not my sheep.

Romans 11:5 So then, even now there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

2 Thessalonians 3:2 For faith does not belong to all.

(4) It is irresistible and not everyone's.

God's salvation is not dependent on or determined by the free will of man, but only by God's grace, that is, God's will and power. Salvation is not determined by human will or evil, but God's will is the determining factor. The chosen one cannot believe unless they believe. Therefore, it is gracious (John 6:37,39, 17:12, 10:26-29).

(5) It is because He will surely save us to the end.

Even the chosen people seem at one time discouraged. But he must repent and return so that salvation may be accomplished (Philippians 1:6).

Because it is God who initiated the salvation. It is because he has the faithfulness and power to complete it to the end. Therefore, salvation is through the covenant of grace. And because he never forsakes his chosen people (Psalm 94:14, Romans 11:2, John 6:30).

3. God saves from sin and death.

Ephesians 2:1 says, ?e made you who were dead in your sins and trespasses alive.

God's salvation means spiritual salvation. It means that it is not the kind of physical salvation that temporarily saves the body, but the eternal salvation of the spirit.

It also means that God's salvation is fundamental salvation. because all

It is salvation from sin, the root cause of unhappiness.

Moreover, God's salvation means complete salvation. Salvation from death means that. Because death is the last enemy (1 Corinthians 15:26).
