Isaiah 45
1. Salvation through Cyrus (1-13)
① Reference to Cyrus (1-7)
The name of the savior, who has been introduced anonymously, is revealed at the end of the battlefield as Cyrus. Now, Cyrus is introduced in detail.
Isaiah reveals that God called Cyrus, anointed him with oil, made him an instrument, and gave him the word of God's revelation. The word God gave to Cyrus makes it clear that the God of Israel He is the only god and that He has called you to do all things.
② The Prophet's Prayer for the Fulfillment of Salvation (8)
He commands heaven and earth to praise God's salvation.
③ God's sovereign work of salvation (9-13)
Through the parable of the clay and the potter, just as the clay has nothing to say to the potter who made it, so in the face of God who created all things and humans on this earth, man cannot claim anything and only hope for God's creation and salvation. . Therefore, salvation is accomplished by the sovereign work of God.
2. Apocalyptic Judgment and Salvation (14-17)
① Gentiles recognized God as one God (14-15)
When eschatological salvation comes, even Israel's enemies will bring gifts to worship God. Of course, the conversion of the Gentiles is being accomplished gradually in the history of Christianity, but it will only be completed when the Lord returns.
② The Last Judgment and Salvation (16-17)
The God of salvation is hidden, whereas idols are only visible human manipulations. So you can't use any abilities. Nevertheless, those who do not serve God who is the true God and serve idols like trash can never be saved.
Only those who trust in God can achieve eternal salvation.
3. The challenge God gives to the nations (18-25)
① Appeal to acknowledge the only God (18-21)
② Urging the Gentiles to be converted to God (22-25)
Look on me to all the peoples of the earth. Then you will be saved. Only God is the only savior. Only those who come to him can be saved.
