Text: Luke 4:1-13
Satan tempts Jesus when he is hungry after forty days of fasting in the wilderness.

Much less, as ordinary people, we are subjected to countless temptations by Satan in our lives.

There are three tests of God for us believers.
First, there is a test for God to see our faith.
He told Abraham to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, in order to see Abraham's faith.
It was a difficult test for a human being, but Abraham passed the test by obeying God's word.
So we become the ancestors of faith and become the ancestors of many people like the stars in the night sky.
We too should be Christians who always obey God's commands and thus pass God's test.
Second, there is a test that refines our faith.
According to Exodus 15:22-26, Moses led the people of Israel into the wilderness of Shur, and after three days they arrived at Marah without finding water.
There is water, but the water is bitter and cannot drink, and the people complain about Moses.
Moses cried out to the Lord.
The tree was cut down by the Lord and thrown into the water, and the water was sweetened.
It is testing the people's faith through difficult trials.
There the LORD makes decrees and ordinances, and tests the people.
Third, the devil is trying to destroy people.
What does Genesis 2:16-17 say?

You are not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Why did God forbid them to eat?
This is because the tree of the knowledge of good and evil symbolizes man's submission and dependence upon God.
However, Eve and Adam, who fell into Satan's temptation, sin.

What should we do when these tests come?
God tells us to put on the full armor of God through Ephesians 6:10-11.

In order to overcome temptation, we must put on the full armor of God, not by human abilities and methods.
How do we fight Satan if we put on the full armor?
First, we must overcome through the word of God.
What does Matthew 4:4 say?
It is said that man does not live by bread alone, but by the word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
The weapon that overcomes Satan's temptations is the Word of God.
Second, we must overcome through the power of prayer.
In Matthew 26:41, Jesus tells his disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane to pray, watch and pray that you may not fall into temptation, the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
The only weapon that can overcome temptation is prayer.
Third, we must oppose Satan.
According to 1 Peter 5:8-9, be sober and watchful, for your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. It is said that it is knowledge.
If you want to win a fight, you must not back down from the enemy. must be confronted.
Fourth, we must resist sin with martyrdom.
The Christian spirit of faith always requires a spirit of protesting against evil wherever and whenever. If you compromise with sin in any circumstance, you will fall into temptation.
