1. God looked at the disposition and temperament of man.

Through fellowship with Moses, I came to know the providence of God.
Having confidence in God in Moses' victory / Battle of Rephidim
God strengthened his leadership in his relationship with him.
- Joshua
1) He did not agree with the folly of the people. (Ex 32:17)
2) He calmed the disturbed people at the 12 spy reporting contest.
3) He was publicly praised by Moses. (De 31:7,8)
2. God's plan continues to advance.
Moses could not enter Canaan. It was a stumbling block in leading the people to Canaan.
1) It was suitable to go before Pharaoh, but Joshua was more suitable than Moses to enter Canaan.
2) Moses was suitable to lead the people in the sea and the wilderness, but Joshua was more suitable to conquer the land of Canaan.
3) Moses was fit to lead Israel out of Egyptian slavery, but Joshua was better at organizing them into a united nation.
3. God accomplishes what a person with superior ability fails through through a person who is inferior. God knows what only that person can do.

- In order to change the heart of King Artaxerxes, God uses Nehemiah to use for his work.
1. God gives worthy qualities to those whom he calls.
2. God grants authority and recognition to those whom he has called.
3. God makes those whom he calls triumph over all things.
4. God gives them possession of the products of their victors.
- He was Moses' servant for a long time. But he made him see the glory.
Jesus Christ came into this world in the form of a servant, but God lifted him up and used him.
- A person who can rule is a person who has learned to obey.
- Joshua knew Moses very well as Moses' successor.
