Title: God's Way 35.HWP
After receiving the command to leave Haran and return to Canaan, Jacob called his wives and explained this to them, and they immediately obeyed. In this scene, we see a beautiful family of faith.
1. The disguise of faith (4-13)
After accepting God's command by faith, Jacob explained it to his wives and discussed it. His explanation is summarized in three parts.
1) Laban's unkindness and concern for the God of Jacob's ancestors
2) The fact that Laban continues to doubt, but God always takes care of him and publishes him.
3) Laban's cattle are decreasing and his own are increasing because of God's intervention.
that is.
Through these stories, it is revealed that it is God's will to return home in the end. (13)
We see here the religious attitude of the head of a family in serious discussion with his wives.
He does not deal arbitrarily with the authority of the head of the household, but is thoughtful and religiously considerate of his wives.
there will be
A religious head of household is a person who not only prays alone over important matters, but also gives great consideration so that the whole family can play God's will.
2. The wife of faith (14-16)
After hearing Jacob's explanation, Rachel and Leah accurately judged the situation from a religious point of view and immediately obeyed her husband's words, giving her the courage to completely obey God's commands. They trusted the person of their husband and God.
In this way, a family of faith means that the father leads the family with godly faith, and his wife and family
It is a family that obeys with joy.
3. Jacob now leaves for Canaan.
However, Laban finds out about this later, and God protects Jacob in that situation. Laban learned that Jacob fled three days later and pursued seven days to block Jacob's way.
It is because he could not control his greed without regard to God's will.
After his intentions have been thwarted, he utters excuses and hypocrisy (Gen. 31:27-28).
Also, he previously acknowledged God as the ruler of all things (Genesis 24:50-51), but now he calls him [God your Father].(29)
It was God who led Jacob safely to Canaan.
There are many obstacles on the way of the saints, but God protects them to the end.
(Proverbs 16:1-3) The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of a word is from the LORD.
All deeds are pure in their own eyes, but the Lord searches the soul.
Commit your deeds to the LORD, and your plans will come to pass.
