God's Will for You (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
Thessalonica, the capital of Macedonia, is on the Roman highway to the east.
It has the largest population and is the center of transportation (Rome and Asia),
It is a bright city that Paul visited with Silas and Timothy on his second missionary journey.
The reason and purpose of writing are to praise what has become an example of faith, and
By neglecting their livelihood and correcting their chaotic life, hope for the Resurrection and the Second Coming
To become a church that does not become discouraged and leads a holy life
It is to equip the saints with the truth of the holy life.
Against this background, Paul said that God's will for the church
It was said to be always rejoicing, praying without ceasing, and giving thanks in everything.
How can we rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in everything?
This is the behavioral ethic of the saints and the life ethic that many people have always questioned.
Because it is God's will, we must rejoice unconditionally, pray without ceasing,
There are people who say that we should be thankful for everything, but this is really difficult.
Like the lawyers and Pharisees, commanding the saints with a trap of guilt
It's like giving a firm direction to the other person when you're not doing it right.
God does not demand our actions unconditionally and coercively.
Through personal change, he causes voluntary changes in behavior so that the fruit of the Holy Spirit can be produced.
To the extent that we come to understand and understand the providence of God through the Word, we
It is not the normative saying that we must live like this unconditionally with overflowing gratitude, but that we are to live a life of gratitude in all things, always praying for the saints to overflow with joy and God's will to be fulfilled. How can we live such a life?
Any saint wants to live joyfully and praising rather than being sad and angry.
Let go of one's greed and hope and hope that God's will will be done,
No matter what kind of environment you are in, you will want to live with gratitude rather than complaints and resentment.
The principle that makes this possible is presented in Thessalonians.
The Thessalonian church was confused by the doctrine of the Second Coming of Christ.
Those who know that the Second Coming has passed, because there is no hope, they become discouraged,
Those who believe that the Second Coming is imminent, neglect their livelihood like those who believe in the end of time.
It can lead to the collapse of the church by living a life without scale,
Because the lives of the saints themselves can become a serious problem that can collapse
The importance of the doctrine of the Second Coming can be recognized because of Paul's writing.
Because of this, it can be predicted that the saints will overflow with joy, prayer, and thanksgiving.
The doctrine of the Advent is to present hope and vision for the future.
A person whose future is not guaranteed will have no joy, no hope, no gratitude in the present.
Because the Israelites did not believe in God's promises, and because of future anxiety, 12 people
As a result of sending the spies in advance, the 10 men gave negative reports and bad criticism
For the people who escaped from Egypt in hope of Canaan, they cannot return to Egypt.
Not being able to go to the Canaan that I dreamed of means that I have to give up on life itself.
There is no hope for tomorrow, and the uncertain future gives a sense of self-destruction to reality.
Self-destruction became a fatal wound that ruined the sadness, dissatisfaction and life itself.
When the Israelites heard the negative report, they wept and recklessly cried in Canaan.
Many people were annihilated while entering, but there is no tomorrow for humans.
The future is uncertain whether humans will live as slaves to their instincts.
Or it means that you have no choice but to live a free and restless life.
The hope of all the saints, including the early church, is in the second coming of Christ, and the spiritual
The hope is to wear a body and live eternal life in the glorious kingdom of God.
Confidence in Christ's second coming gives us hope and hope for eternal life.
Confidence in the future vision is always a joy
As a driving force, Paul said that the sufferings of the present cannot be compared with the glory that will be revealed (Romans 8:18).
1. Always rejoice
Being happy all the time starts with confidence in the future.
Paul met the resurrected Christ in Damascus and ascended to the third heaven to receive the glory of God.
After confirming the kingdom, Paul said that it is good to live or to die, to eat or to starve.
I made a promise to do it only for Christ, and anyone can easily do this.
It is not something that can be done, only meeting Christ and about the second coming of Christ.
It is possible only with those who believe in the promise and live with the certainty of the eternal future.
Because of this conviction, Paul said, in all things, self-proclaimed as a servant of God, and endure much,
tribulation, poverty, affliction, beatings, imprisonment, noise, toil, sleeplessness, inability to eat,
Rejoice while risking life (2 Corinthians 6:4-5)! rejoice! i say again
He told the church members in Colossae from a Roman prison to rejoice.
The visible world is not the only strength a believer can live with joy.
When we are sure of the existence of the eternal, invisible kingdom of God,
A few simple words are not given as a belief to be believed.
To believe in the promise of the future, to believe in the surreal world is not easy,
I don't believe it just because I have to believe it, and memorizing it doesn't make it
No less, from beginning to end the word of God composed of wisdom unto salvation.
There is a possibility when you study in detail.
In the Bible, God foretells and promises things about the future.
Because it is made up of history, through the Bible, God must
The Second Coming, which has not yet been fulfilled, must be confirmed as the One who fulfills the promises.
They also trust the promises of the kingdom of God.
After Paul met Christ, he studied the Old Testament for three years in the Arabian wilderness, and God
It would have added confidence to his conviction that he was a sure-keeper of his promises.
If you want to live with joy all the time, learn the truth about who God is.
We need to confirm through the Bible, what promises he has made to us,
You will need to check how you are currently fulfilling that promise.
It is the power of this conviction that no matter what circumstances you are in, you will not lose your joy.
This is God's will for us.
2. Pray without ceasing
A person who has been promised a great gift always keeps the promise to come true.
We live with a wish, but prayer is not seeking human greed.
Waiting for God's promises to be fulfilled.
Some say that prayer is all-powerful, so they are reckless in order to fulfill their desires.
Spending time, but biblical prayer is all about seeking the will of God,
In other words, we want God's promises to be fulfilled.
Jesus prayed that your will be done on earth as it is in heaven
He wished and prayed, and told him to seek his kingdom and righteousness.
Praying without ceasing means clearly what God has promised.
We need to know, before Paul explains what God's will for us is.
At the beginning of Thessalonians, the promise of the Second Coming is specifically mentioned.
God's promise to us is that he sends Christ, and through him
It means that he will judge the world and that the church, which is the body of God, will surely triumph.
Do not forget this promise, and be sure that this promise will surely come true.
We are always asking you to live with the hope that God's promises will be fulfilled.
This is praying without ceasing and this is God's will for us.
The wishes and prayers of all the saints, said the one who testified to these
Amen, come, Lord Jesus (Rev 22:20). Isn't this begging?
3. Give thanks in everything
For those who do not know when tomorrow is not guaranteed and when the suffering of the present will end
We can never live with gratitude, but when will the suffering end, and the end of the suffering will surely bring glory
Those who are convinced that there is a blessed day and live with evidence of that fact
Whatever the circumstances, you will be able to live with gratitude in everything.
God has left us the kingdom of God
Fulfilled through Christ, He will surely come,
He will give us praise, comfort, and encouragement, and give us the crown of life.
He promised life as collateral that he would live in glory in the kingdom of God.
What He has decided to give us as the promised heritage cannot be compared with the treasures of this world.
It is eternal, it is the most glorious, and it is not given to anyone.
We are determined to receive these spiritual blessings and are guaranteed to enjoy them.
This world is a place that comes and goes for a short time. It is a place where you can be trained and learn the glory of God's grace. The splendor of this world ends in an instant and does not last forever.
Do not live in dissatisfaction with your heart, and know what the future inheritance is guaranteed
Those who live with the faith to live by focusing on knowing what that glory is like
He said the world couldn't handle it.
People in the world risk their lives for money, fame, health and success.
Because the saints live in anticipation of God's promises being fulfilled soon.
Instead of being dissatisfied with the things of the world, we live in gratitude.
God's promises are specifically mentioned in the Bible, and the fact that they will surely come true can also be confirmed through the Bible.
Confident true faith through the Bible always lives happily in any circumstance,
Let us always hope that God's promises will come true,
It is the driving force to be grateful for everything and to live.
