Title: God's Wish (Dan. 01:8-16)
Content We express people who have historically shown great personalities and lives as prehistoric people.
The term “pre-located person” refers to a person who has set a will and is fulfilling the will that he has set. One such person is the well-known Ephraim Lincoln. When he was a lawyer before becoming president of the United States, he worked for the poor and the injustice.
One day, a man came to Lincoln and asked for his defense. However, after hearing his problem, Lincoln refused. 'I cannot defend you. Your fault is clear, and you should rather compensate the other person and ask for forgiveness.
At Lincoln's words, the man got angry and said, "Who told you to judge what was right and what was wrong? Don't you just have to defend yourself by taking the money you give, so I can win?" he said, raising his voice.
Lincoln spoke firmly to the man once again. My job is not to defend wrongdoing, but to defend justice. You can't defend obvious wrongdoing.
You have to make up your mind to live. = The above story is an anecdote that shows the attitude of his life when he set a clear purpose of life to live for justice and work for justice.
The ancient Chinese also used the term 'Yujisa Saiseong' often, which means growing up and accomplishing things.
There are two kinds of people in this world today. There are people who are bored every day without any goal, and people who have a clear purpose in mind, achieve their goals, and work hard to achieve their goals.
A person who has the will to work for the country can conduct right politics. Only those who become chaebols, return their economic power to this society, and use their financial resources for the shady places of society become true wealthy people. In the arts and sciences and in all fields, those who work to use their talents and abilities to the glory of God will rise to a great summit.
There is nothing wrong with having the will to succeed in the world. What is important is whether the will that I have established is really the will in God's eyes.
The Lord said in Matthew 12:50 that whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother, and in John 4:34, my food is to do the will of him who sent me, and his He said that the work is to be completed completely.
May your goals in life be worthy of God's will. But in order to do God's will, we must know God's will. In Romans 12:2, the apostle Paul tells us to discern what is the will of God, which is good, pleasing, and perfect.
In verse 8 of today's text, Daniel decided that he would not defile himself with the king's delicacies and with the wine he drank. These words indicate that Daniel's goal was to live a clean life and meet the Lord.
We know the history of two thousand years ago, when King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon invaded Judah in Israel three times. In the third invasion, many of Judah's nobles, intellectuals, and youth were taken captive. Among them were Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abenego.
King Nebuchadnezzar, who had conquered Jerusalem and had many captives, began to ponder how to use the captives, and he chose from among the captives beautiful, talented, knowledgeable, and familiar with learning, who would be useful in the royal palace. The study of the country of Galdiya was intensively taught.
Among them, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abenego were also chosen. They cover the sacramental feast that the king eats every day, and have been thoroughly made with the people of their own country for three years. It was an environment where success and happiness were guaranteed as long as you followed the orders of King Nebuchadnezzar. At that time, Daniel made up his mind as in verse 8 and decided not to defile himself with the king's delicacies and wine.
Why did Daniel reject all that King Nebuchadnezzar had to offer? King Nebuchadnezzar liked to serve idols. Whenever I made food, I would go to the idol, bow down, and then eat. Therefore, to Daniel, drinking the king's delicacies and wine was like eating the riches of idolatry.
Ladies and gentlemen, there are cases when people who believe in Jesus eat the sacrifice food and worship idols without their knowledge.
In order to keep our faith, we can think and learn a lot from Daniel, who has decided not to defile himself before God by not eating food sacrificed to idols.
We must live in holiness = Daniel's life
About 2.000 years ago, it was difficult to live a clean life in that era and in that country. It is a fact that we all know well how corrupt, adulterous, sinful, and idolatry was the nation of Babylon at that time.
In 412 BC, in Athens, Greece, a philosopher named Diogenes walked the streets carrying a lamp. People gossip when they see him, but someone asks a question. Diogenes, why do you carry a lamp around this chandelier? The philosopher answered, 'I am looking for someone who is honest and who lives cleanly.
There is another story like this. It is said that on a farm, the owner of a sheep was looking for a worker because he needed a worker. There were three people, one was a shoe polisher, one was a gum dealer, and the other was a member of parliament. How powerful are the members of the National Assembly today, but it is said that the members of the National Assembly had little to do here. The master was contemplating which one of the three should be the shepherd, and he said to the three men to leave the fifty or so sheep to go to the mountain and drive them for a few days. .
The next morning, the shoe shiner came. Master, I can't do it. It smells like poop and is dirty, so I thought it would be better to wash my shoes.
The next day, the gumman came and said I couldn't do it, and left. On the third day, when I heard this bruising sound, I went out and found that all fifty sheep had returned. The reason I found out was that the sheep had returned because they were tired of the rotten smell of the lawmakers.
Many people living in today's world have their own will, such as those who have a purpose for their family's happiness, and those who have a purpose in collecting wealth.
However, the will that God is most pleased with is to live a clean life.
It is to live in holiness. The reason why God enjoys living in a clean and sanctified world like Daniel is because God is holiness. God has said to us, I am holy, so be ye holy.
But it is not easy for us to live a clean world. There are many people in the world who act like members of the church when they come to church, but live just like the worldly people. In the world, there are people who behave like unbelievers, or even worse, and come to church on Sunday.
It is difficult to live a clean life, difficult circumstances, these are the characteristics of the generation we live in. However, the reason why we should strive to live clean is given in 1 Thessalonians 4:3. This is the will of God, your holiness. You must live consciously of God = It is difficult to live a holy life only with the desire to live clean. It is possible only when we are conscious of God in our hearts.
Joseph was a 28-year-old bachelor and lived in Egypt for 13 years.
While working hard as a slave in Bodabal's family, sometimes imprisoned, and sometimes as a slave, Potiphar's wife seduces Joseph while there is no one there. But Joseph kept himself clean. It was because he had God conscious in his heart. If God insists on your heart, and if you are conscious of God in your mind and heart, God will work for you to live a holy life.
The meaning of the name Daniel is 'God is the judge'. From this we can guess that Daniel always had the idea that God was the one who judged me.
Why is the world we live in so dirty and ugly, why is our society so terrifying and cruel, because of the work of Satan. This world is getting worse and worse because the devil defiles human words and actions. In Mark 5:8, it is said that they are unclean spirits. How do those unclean spirits defile us? It defiles us by making us sin.
In Mark 7:20-23 he also said, "What comes out of a man defiles him. From within, out of the heart of a man, come evil thoughts: fornication, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, licentiousness, Eyes that shed, blasphemy, pride, and all these evil things come from within and defile a person.
That's right. The devil is defiling our birthplace, our actions, our faith, and our homes with sin. He said that the body of the saints is the holy temple of God, but we must not defile our bodies with these filthy sins. Should we put alcohol, tobacco, and the sinful things of the world into our body, the temple of God? Our bodies are earthen vessels containing the treasure of Christ, but earthen vessels are fragile. Therefore, you have to be careful not to break it yourself.
If you live a clean world, God will surely bless you and write you down.
Daniel was taken captive at the young age of 15 and 16 and received God's blessing for 70 years until he died at the age of 90. God blessed Daniel with the will to live a clean life.
Everyone, I hope you make up your mind to live a clean life. I bless you in the name of the Lord to make up your mind and live a clean life.
Paul speaks to Timothy, the son of faith, in 2 Timothy 2:21. 'If anyone cleanses himself from sin, he will become a vessel of honor, worthy of the master's use, and worship for every good work.
Therefore, do not use swear words or obscene words. Also, keep your material life clean. Also, be clear about the opposite sex issue. Be clean in your life of faith. Then God takes care of everything.
Everyone, please make up your mind today. Just as Daniel made up his mind not to defile himself with idol-worshipping sacrifices, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will live a clean life.
