God's Workers Working Together
(2009.07.12. Week) (Judges 4:4~10)
Everyone who has life is a necessary worker. No one is useless.
But who are the workers for? is a very important question.
Or there are people who have become servants of the devil as evil workers. Some people are servants of God as workers of righteousness.
We should give thanks for being children of God and live as righteous workers and workers for God.
I hope that you will be faithful believers for the glory of God.
However, there are many things that cannot be done with only the mind - because of the lack of ability, the lack of strength, the lack of talent - with the mind - there are many times when we cannot do big things like our heart. - Then, should I give up lamenting that I am lacking in ability? ??? - no. - In that case, cooperation and cooperation are needed.
By joining forces and joining forces, we can accomplish great things.
There are limits to the abilities of each of us. However, I hope that all of us will work together for good with the heart of loving God to become precious saints.
1. A leader who hires a collaborator (Deborah).
Deborah became Judge, Israel's supreme leader. But Deborah's abilities weren't perfect either.
(4:4) - “At that time Deborah the prophetess, the wife of Rabphidoth, judged Israel.”
Back then, most of the big jobs were done by men. It is a time when women rarely become leaders. at that time
*Deborah - became a leader as a woman. As a housewife, she became a leader.
*Prophet is now serving as a judge - A prophet is a spiritual leader who knows and delivers God's will first, and a judge is a real politician who has to fight wars and politics.
* As a housewife, you must go to war. A spiritual leader must take responsibility for the world. - It's not easy to deal with. It was daunting. - However, because it was God's order, I became a judge without any excuses.
Even if it's difficult for you too - if it's God's work, don't make excuses and obey it.
The important thing is to find a collaborator when you have a lot of work to do and your own abilities are insufficient.
(4:6) “Deborah sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, ‘Has not the LORD, the God of Israel, command this way? go to”
A prophet with spiritual leadership - because she was too much of a woman to lead the war - she needed a general to take the vanguard - so I hired Barak to take the lead.
*It's hard to do everything alone - but having a good collaborator makes the job easier.
Like Deborah, who found a good collaborator, Barak, and entrusted him with the task.
2. A warrior who cooperates with the leader (Barak).
Barak, who lived as an ordinary people, was suddenly called by a judge one day.
It was an order from the leader to become a general with ten thousand men, since he would entrust ten thousand soldiers.
This is an abrupt command. - What about Barak?
① I trusted and followed the leader.
(4:8) - "Barak said to him, "If you go with me, I will go; but if you do not go with me, I will not go."
Barak did not consider himself to be a great man - "I cannot do it alone without a prophet with me" - admitting his weakness by confessing.
However, he did not sit down because of his lack of ability. -
“Even though I am weak if you go with me, I will do the work” I believed and followed the leader.
How many people are as confident as who they are? - But when God calls you to be a worker, please believe that God will give you the ability to handle it.
② A good worker is a worker who is not concerned with achievements.
Most of them don't want to do anything for nothing. - But in God's work, you must be faithful even if there is no reward.
(4:9) - "I will surely go with you, but you will not be glorified on the way you go this time..." - How absurd is this?
It is a battlefield where you risk your life - It is said that even if you fight for your life, you will not get the glory.
*6.25 Those who made contributions to the Korean War are still treated as nationals of merit.
* Those who participated in the Vietnam War, not the Korean War, also received medals equal to their achievements.
However, Barak is informed of the outcome even before going to war - although he must risk his life and fight at the vanguard - the conclusion that after the war is over, he will not have any glory.
However, Barak did not go to war in hope of a reward - because that war is God's will, and it is the leader's command that he be the vanguard - he became a spearhead, cooperating with the leader without hesitation.
*For God's work, I hope that you will become believers who cooperate with the pastor even if there is no cost.
3. A believer who fulfilled his mission without a name (Yael).
There is Deborah, a judge called by God, and Barak, a general called by the judge.
It is natural for them to work together to do God's work, worthy of their name.
However, the strength of these two alone was not enough to defeat the enemies that torment God's people.
(4:21) - “And he fell into a deep sleep, and Jael, the wife of Heber, took a tent stake, and with a rod in her hand, went quietly to him, and drove the stake into his temple, and the stake pierced through him, and he fell into the ground, and he fainted and died.”
*The Hazor soldiers who invaded Israel were judged and defeated by Israeli soldiers led by Deborah and Barak. But Sisera, Hazor's commander, fled from Deborah and Barak.
*The man who killed Sisera, the commander of the army of Hazor, who fled at that time - was neither a judge nor a general - Jael, an ordinary housewife in a family.
Although Jael was an ordinary housewife - he did not forgive Sisera, God's enemy who was tormenting God's people.
An ordinary housewife killed the defense minister of an enemy country and saved the country.
God's work is not only done by special office-bearers. Judges and generals are not the only ones doing God's work.
Pastors and elders are not the only ones who do God's work.
All of God's people should do their best in God's work. - Like Jael, I hope you will be good workers who are faithful to God's work.
4. The work of God that was accomplished jointly.
*Even Sasara could not do the country work alone. *Barak was a good collaborator, but neither of them could do it. *There is no name, but many soldiers worked together for good. *The final conclusion was made with the cooperation of Yael, a really ordinary housewife.
After the war, Judge Deborah wrote a song about the war and sang it.
(5:2)-“Praise be to the Lord, for the leaders of Israel have led, and the people have dedicated themselves with joy” - Amen!!
*Leaders took the lead, and all the people united their strength - a song that glorified God.
* I pray that all the members of Kyungil Church will work together with one heart and one will to become loyal to God and become precious workers who beautifully accomplish the beautiful things God wants.
I pray that you will become the saints who are not lacking enough to be praised for being the people of God who joyfully devoted themselves to God.
