This paragraph is a description of the judgment of Edom, symbolized by God's hostile forces.
① Appearance of the judge and his reaction (1-2)
Isaiah describes Edom and Bozrah as the enemies of Israel and the judges coming out of them. He is the one who judges the enemy like treading a winepress.
Those who come in red clothes - A great warrior who comes after winning victory and symbolizes the victory of the atonement of the cross.
Gorgeous clothing - glorious clothing.
One who walks with great power - the victorious conqueror who completely annihilated the enemy
He is the one who speaks of impartiality - the fulfiller of God's covenant.
② Inevitability of refereeing (3-6)
Judgment trampled under his wrath and wrath.
2. Recalling God's grace to Israel (7-14)
① God's mercy (7-9)
Jehovah is merciful, and it is not an abstract concept, but a real and concrete one. God's mercy is the driving force that guides the unrelenting Israel on the right path and perfectly protects them. Therefore, Israel, who is completely helpless and hopeless, will take on the role of fulfilling God's work of redemption.
② The Holy Spirit of the Lord guides Israel (10-14)
Previously, Israel had rebelled against God and grieved the Holy Spirit of the Lord. Therefore, they were judged by God. Isaiah puts the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the exodus of the Israelites through Moses on the same line.
You have rested in peace under the guidance of the Spirit of God, and your name has been glorified.
3. The earnest prayers of the Israelites (15-19)
① Appeal for God’s mercy (15-17)
Isaiah is earnestly praying to God to help them who have been abandoned.
② Lamenting over the current situation of the Israelites (18-19)
The people of Israel confess that their present situation is quite far from God's rulership. Therefore, it is said that the 'sanctuary of the Lord', where the spiritual fellowship between God and the people of Israel is alive, has been violated, and they are praying for the restoration of the sanctuary of the Lord as soon as possible for God's lively reign.
It includes the people's earnest prayers for God's rule.
