Title: God-given authority/Matthew 7:27-28
words to enter
There was authority in the teachings of the Messiah, who came to this earth to save God's chosen people. The teachings of Jesus Christ had a spiritual power unlike those of the Jews. The teachings of Jesus, the son of Joseph, who was known as the carpenter's son, had authority in the Word, unlike the rabbis.
The poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. . . You are the salt and light of the world. Don't murder, don't commit adultery, don't be hypocrites by giving alms for people to see, get your plank out, don't judge, go in through the narrow gate, be a wise one who builds your house on the rock
People who heard Jesus' words were amazed.
Today, I hope that we too will be amazed at the power of God's word as we listen to the world's words for a week and then listen to the words of humans and then listen to the word of God on Sunday. We should always be people who listen to the word of God and be amazed at the power of the word. I hope that every time you hear the word of God, you will be amazed at the power of the word even if you listen and listen to it again and again.
Before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Lot's sons-in-law took the word of God as a joke about God's judgment of this city. They considered the word of God as a joke, and they had no choice but to burn to death in a brimstone fire.
The Prophet Jonah cried out all day long, walking around the city of Nineveh in three days. After 40 days, Nineveh will fall. When they heard the cry of a strange man they had never seen before, they believed in God, fasted, and repented. He came out of the belly of a meat, so what must he look like?
Jonah 3:5
“The people of Nineveh believed in God and proclaimed a fast, and they were clothed in sackcloth, small and large.”
Jonah 3:9-10
“Perhaps God will change his mind and put an end to his wrath, so that we may not perish?” he said. He did not bring the calamity that he had said.”
Please obey the authority of God's Word. If we obey God's word, we live, but if we disobey God's word, God's judgment awaits.
What is Authority?
Authority ( ) has the meaning of power, ability, authority, influence, etc., and is derived from the words worthy, just, and right. The authority of Jesus was the proper authority. Jesus' authority was not from the world or from the guise of formality and hypocrisy. Therefore, when the crowds who followed Jesus heard His words, they felt the power of His words. He had the power of words.
These words were the words of creation when God created the heavens and the earth in the beginning. He said, “Let there be light.” There was light, and it was the word of power to create light, and it was the word of power to create the sun, moon, and stars. Not like the Pharisees or the scribes. What authority did God give to Jesus who came to this earth in the flesh?
Matthew 28:17-18
“When they saw Jesus, they worshiped him, but some doubted.” Jesus came and said to him, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”
God has given all authority in heaven and on earth to His Son, Jesus Christ. He gave you the authority to rule the kingdom of heaven. He has given the authority to rule over the evil one who has taken power over the air. He has given you the power to heal all diseases. He gave you the power to cast out evil spirits.
Matthew 4:23-24
“Jesus went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every disease among the people; and news of him spread throughout Syria, and people with all kinds of ailments, those with various diseases and ailments, and demons. He brought the handicapped, the epileptic, and the paralytic, and he healed them.”
Mark 1:26-27
“The unclean spirit convulsed the man and came out with a loud noise. Everyone was astonished and asked one another, ‘What is this?
He gave the power to raise the dead. Come out, Lazarus, and come out with limbs and limbs. He has given you the power to forgive sins. He has given you the power to overcome darkness.
John 8:12
“And Jesus spoke again, saying, I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 12:46
“I came into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me should not dwell in darkness.”
Jesus had the power of God. The words of Jesus themselves were creative words that save lives. Heavenly Father has also given us this authority in Christ. I gave it to you and me. Please believe that Jesus has given us the authority.
John 1:12-13
“To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
What is the authority of the children of God? It is the authority of Jesus. The authority of the Son is the authority of the Father.
(Look at the son of President Kim Young-sam. He is the president, so even if he doesn't get a father, let's get a son with his father's authority)
Luke 9:1-2
“Jesus called the twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to heal the sick, and sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.”
Matthew 10:7-8
“As you go, preach and say, “The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, and cast out demons; freely you received, freely give.”
Luke 10:19-20
“I have given you authority to trample serpents and scorpions, and to have control over all the power of the enemy, and no one will harm you. But do not rejoice that the demons surrender to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
Do you believe that God has given us all these powers in Christ? He has given us the power and authority to control all demons and to heal diseases. He gave power to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, and cast out demons. He gave you the authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and to have control over all the power of your enemies. Please follow.
In the name of Jesus, who is life, I command you to leave the sickness of death. In the name of Jesus, the light, I command you to depart from the demons of darkness.
2 Corinthians 10:8
“The authority which the Lord has given was not to destroy you, but to build you up, and I will not be ashamed if I boast too much about it.”
Revelation 2:26-29
“He who overcomes and keeps my work to the end, I will give authority over all nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron, as if breaking earthenware, as I have received from my Father. I will also give him the morning star. Hear what he has to say to these churches.”
Revelation 20:4
“And I saw thrones, and those who sat on them were given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and that they did not worship the beast or his image, but put their hands on their foreheads and on their hands. Those who did not receive his mark lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.”
closing words
There were those who doubted the authority of Jesus.
The priests, scribes, and Pharisees saw a power unlike theirs, and they began to question where this authority came from. The authority that comes from God does not belong to the carpenter's son, Jesus of Nazareth, but naturally belongs to those like them.
Judging from his origins and status, he began to doubt that his authority did not come from God, but from some other good thing. They eventually had to ask the Lord.
Matthew 21:23-27
“The new chief priests and the elders of the people, whom Jesus was going into the temple to teach, came and said, “By what authority are you doing these things, and who has given you this authority?” Jesus answered, “I will also ask you what I said. I will tell you by what authority he is doing these things. Where did John's baptism come from? Is it from heaven or from a man? And they discussed with each other, saying, If you say, ‘Stand in heaven, why did you not believe him? Everyone thought that John was a prophet, and the people were afraid, so he answered and said to Jesus, "We do not know." Jesus said, "I will not tell you by what authority I do these things."
The powers of the world are more powerful than the powers of evil. How strong is the power of the power of evil? How strong is the power of darkness? The power of the evil Satan is strong all over the world. Or do you believe in the power of demons and believe in the power of unrighteousness, but do you not doubt the power of righteousness of Jesus? Do we not doubt the building authority that God has given us in Christ? Or are you oppressed by the power of darkness? Are you anxious? Are you nervous? Are you suffering from illness? Are you possessed by unclean spirits? Believe in the power of Jesus to save us from our sins.
Believe in the power of Jesus, who made the eternal kingdom of heaven from eternal death. Enjoy the power to build our souls, to build our health, to build our families, and to build the kingdom of God as your own through prayer.
This authority is indeed a good authority that is not like the authority of the world.
This authority also has the authority not to deny. We also have the authority not to yield to injustice. Do not yield to the dark powers of the world Do not yield to the powers of Satan's unrighteousness. Authority does not disappear unless the one who gave it takes it away.
