Title: God.. God.. God../Genesis 45:5-9
Joseph, the man of God, is a type of Jesus Christ, and it can be said that he is a model of the saints. There is no part of his life that is not connected with God. After being sold into slavery in Egypt, Joseph said that he would not sin against God when Potiphar's wife seduced him. I also remembered God.
In today's text, Genesis 45:5-9, the name of God appears five times, and Joseph could always forgive or help his brothers because he could always see God as the cause. What kind of God can we meet in today's text?
I. God Intervenes in Problems of Evil
God also intervenes in the matter of evil. This is not to say that God is the source of evil. God rules even evil plans and actions, and even through evil, He accomplishes His will. In the end, things don't go according to Satan's plan.
II. He brings good out of evil.
God works good out of evil. Joseph's tragedy was no accident. God accomplishes good purposes even through tragedies. In the end, good, not evil, will appear. “Do not be troubled and do not be grieved, for you sold me here, for God sent me before you to save lives” (Genesis 45:5,7).
God accomplished three good things through Joseph's suffering. He made the first Joseph the Lord of heaven and earth in Egypt, saved the lives of the second Joseph brothers, and saved the lives of others in the process of saving Jacob's family third. Even if it is evil, God turns it into good and accomplishes God's will.
Are we having hard days today? At this time, we must be able to think about the will of God that He wants to accomplish through those sufferings.
III. God of Forgiveness and Sovereignty
Those who see God in all events can forgive even their enemies. We must consider God's providence and plan from God's side. Because Joseph saw the hand of God over his brothers, his anger was relieved and he was able to forgive.
Everything is under the sovereignty of God. We must believe that the rise and fall of a nation, the life and death of an individual, and even a flying sparrow falling to the ground are in God's sovereignty.
Let me conclude. .
“God sent Ina before you” (5, 7) “It was not you who sent me here, but God” (8) “God made me the father of Pharaoh (8)”… Joseph continued to be God, God, you can see what God is doing. God is in control of individuals, history, nations, churches, families, businesses, workplaces, heaven and earth and all things. In the name of the Lord, I pray that all the saints who believe in, acknowledge and obey God's sovereignty will become.
