Title: God Between You and Me

Contents

God between you and me (1 Samuel 24:1-7)

As for what you and I have said, the LORD is between you and me forever.” (1 Samuel 20:23)

Matthew 10:36 says, “A man's enemies shall be the members of his household.” There are some really scary sinners around us. Kim Jong-il and Kim Jong-un have killed countless people who stand in the way of power and made 30 million of their compatriots lead miserable lives, and they enjoy everything. However, there are no people who could not sleep because of their hatred and anger because of Kim Jong-il. All our conflicts are close people. They are believers who live a life of faith together with family, brothers, relatives, and co-workers. If we cannot resolve this conflict and are full of enemies around us, no matter how much money we have, we will not be happy.

Jonathan and David, Saul and David were enemies of the house. Jonathan and David were brother-in-law. But David was a big stumbling block for Jonathan. The kingship, which should have been returned to him as a prince, went to his brother-in-law, David. What is the king's seat? Jonathan must have been thinking too much. But he said to David, you must be number one. I say I will be number two. How could Jonathan make such a great decision? “The Lord is between you and me forever.” There is an answer in these words. Jonathan believed that it was God who brought into the world a hero like David who had humbled him. God exists in all human relationships. God was between me and I and he made us meet.

Saul pursued David to kill his son-in-law. But David had an opportunity to kill Saul, but he did not kill him. David did not see who Saul was to him, but who he was before God. To him he was a craftsman and an enemy. But before God, Saul was an annointed king. “And he said to his men, The LORD forbids me to stretch out my hand against my lord, the LORD's anointed, for he is the LORD's anointed” (1 Samuel 24:6). The people around us are full of people who hurt me, people who ignored me, and people who ruined my life. But who are they before God? You are a child of God, created by God in His own image. Jesus gave up heavenly glory for their souls, was spit in his face, was whipped, and crowned with thorns.

I look to the God who is between you and me. Don't ask me who I am, but meditate on who God is. you can love
