Title: God Confessed by John
Contents
Revelation 1:8 Words
“And the Lord God said, I am the Alpha and the Omega, who are and have been and are to come, and the Almighty.
I have very pretty twin babies. The stone has just passed. The baby born one minute earlier is the daughter, and the baby after is the son. They named him Ha-yeong to become the glory of God, and Ha-kyung to become a person who fears God.
Ha-young, who should be the glory of God, has some problems with her body. From birth, my limbs were a little misaligned. Now that the stone has passed, my hands and feet are normal to some extent, but my lower back has scoliosis and needs surgery at Seoul National University Hospital soon.
When the disciples saw the blind man in Siloam, they said, 'Is this man blind because of his parents' sins? Is it because of your own sins?' and asked Jesus. At that time, Jesus answered, 'Not because of his own sins, not because of his parents' sins, but to show the works of God in him.'
I am very grateful to have this text. Because my parents are blind. Because of this text, my parents always believed that God would work through them and were grateful.
That happened to me too. I have suffered from heart disease since childhood. The exact name of the disease is rheumatic fever, but there is no specific cure. I think it is because God has a work to do through me. So thank you even more.
However, when I think about my daughter having scoliosis and undergoing the difficult surgery at Seoul National University, I often feel very distressed because I wonder if my daughter will be punished for my sins rather than thinking that it must be because God has something to do.
I wish my daughter Ha-young would confess that when she later confesses her faith, the pain she inflicts is probably because God has a work to do. May all of this be done for the glory of God.
When John was imprisoned on the island of Patmos, God spoke to John.
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."
I really like this saying. These words are comforting to me as my daughter is about to undergo surgery. Perhaps it was a very good word of comfort to John.
God is Alpha and Omega. It is the beginning and the end. It is the beginning and it is the end.
This is not to say that God Himself has a beginning and an end. It means that everything begins in God and ends in God. It means that John's imprisonment on the island of Patmos and his life in suffering also began in God and ultimately ended in God.
I want my daughter's surgery to begin in God and end in God.
God is, has been, and is to come. God is the same God that transcends time. I believe that he loved me when he created Adam, that he will love me throughout my life and that the Lord will love me the same at the end of the world when he comes again.
That God comforted John. God was the God of John even before John came to Patmos, and while he was on Patmos, God was still the God of John, and God was still the God of John when he came out of Patmos. Being on the Isle of Patmos means nothing between God and John.
I hope that God will be the same for our Hayoung. I hope that you will be the same God of healing for Ha-young now and for Ha-young on the operating table, and in her life after surgery.
God is omnipotent. You are the one who can do everything. He is the God of power who can annihilate all the Roman soldiers in order to free John from being imprisoned on the island of Patmos. It would be God's will if such a God allowed John to be on Patmos. If you are under the will of God, what would it be like to have a house, a church, or Patmos? Even on Patmos, God's will is done, so we should be thankful.
God hopes that Hayoung is also the Almighty. God is the one who can make Ha-young be born healthy. God is the one who can make Hayoung healthy without any surgery. If such a God allowed Ha-young to undergo surgery, that would also be God's will. I can't understand everything God is doing, but it would be nice if God's will could be done.
God is Alpha and Omega. You, Hayoung, and you all become Alphas and Omegas in the same way. What do we worry about as we begin and end in the Lord? No matter how hard this suffering, no matter how hard it is, it ends in the Lord.
God is, has been, and is to come. God is eternal for me, Hayoung, and you as well. We believe that He still loves us in every moment and every circumstance.
God is omnipotent. He is equally omnipotent to me, Hayoung, and you. He is the Almighty who can turn our environment upside down. So, no matter how difficult the situation, let's wait for God's time and obey His will. We believe that God is omnipotent in all our circumstances.
I love you saints. May you be the Alpha and Omega, and may you rest in peace for a week in the eternal and almighty God.
