Title: God Forbids
Hos 2:5 Their mother committed fornication, and the one who conceived them has done something shameful; for he said, I will follow those who love me, and they will have my bread, my water, my wool, my linen, my fat, and mine. He said to give me wine.
Hos 2:6 Therefore I will block the way with thorns and build a wall so that he cannot find his way.
Hos 2:7 She will go after the one she loves, but she will not go far; she will seek them, but will not find them.
Hosea 2:8 The grain, the new wine, and the oil I gave him, and the silver and gold which they used for Baal, I added to him, and he does not know.
Hos 2:9 Therefore in those days I will retrieve my grain, and in those days I will retrieve my new wine, and will take away my wool and my linen to cover their nakedness.
Hos 2:10 Now I will expose her shame before the eyes of her lover, and no one will be able to deliver her from my hand.
Hos 2:11 I will abolish all their joys and feasts, new moons and sabbaths, and all feasts.
Hos 2:12 I will make rough the vines and fig trees, which he said before, this is the price given to me by those who love me, to become a bush, and to be eaten by the wild animals.
Hos 2:13 She adorns her with earrings and jewellery, and goes after her lover, and forgets me and burns incense, and I will punish her according to the days she served the Baals, says the LORD.
entry
What sin did Israel commit when God said that He was scattered, He had no mercy, He was not my people, and I was not your God?
1) You will be naked and made like the day you were born. 2) I will make him like a wilderness 3) I will make him like a dry land 4) I will make him die of thirst 5) I will not have mercy on his children?
Because they were following Baal.
Israel, like Gomer, had long since departed from the fear of God and loved Baal instead of loving God.
Hos 2:5 Their mother committed fornication, and the one who conceived them has done something shameful; for he said, I will follow those who love me, and they will have my bread, my water, my wool, my linen, my fat, and mine. He said to give me wine.
It means that I myself will forsake God and follow Baal who loves me.
It's about doing what you've always done in the past.
Why did they abandon the God who led their ancestors from slavery in Egypt to Canaan and follow Baal?
What does verse 5 say?
“. . “They give me my bread, my water, my wool, my linen, my oil, and my wine.”
Because they knew and believed that Baal gave them bread, water, wool, linen, oil, and wine.
The land they live in is also God-given.
// Everything you wear and eat is God-given. But they say it was given by Baal.
Bread and water are for human life.
He gave manna when he was in agony in the wilderness because there was nothing to eat. This manna was kneaded and eaten by baking or steaming.
When he was about to die of thirst for lack of water, he made living water come out of a rock and turned bitter water into sweet water.
Wool and linen are for garments. Oil and wine are for joy and satisfaction. These are the specialties of the land of Canaan that God has given to His children.
But Israel says that all these things are given by Baal and follows Baal.
“I will follow the one I love” is a statement of a strong and evil determination to follow Baal no matter what anyone says.
What does God say after seeing and hearing these things? What do you think God will do?
1. God says he will stop it.
Hos 2:6 Therefore I will block the way with thorns and build a wall so that he cannot find his way.
You are blocking Israel's way to Baal, not the sheep. You want to block it with thorns
The more you go, the more you will suffer.
Have you ever walked on a thorny road? The more you go down the thorny road, the more your clothes will be torn, punctured, wounded, and suffered by the thorns.
Again, you want to block it with a wall. When you return, you will stop again, and when you return, you will stop again.
When the Israelites forsook God and followed Baal, they blocked the way with thorns and walls. Still, God blocks them because He loves them.
If we go to a place that is not the will of God, he counsels us through his servants. Still, if we go forward, God blocks our way with thorns.
When you do something that God does not want, God builds a wall to prevent it.
Isn't what I want to do now idolized?
Isn't that my Baal?
Aren't you stubborn in spite of things that God is not pleased with?
What pain are you experiencing right now? Are you stuck at everything you do ?
If our path is blocked by any thorns or a wall is built up, we must reflect deeply.
When God closes it, no one can open it, and when God opens it, no one can close it.
Hos 2:7 If he goes after the one he loves, he will not reach them; if he seeks them, he will not find them.
If you seek the lost God, you will find everything.
If you find your lost faith, you can restore everything.
We will have to look at what we love and what we are following.
2. I will find it and take it away.
Hos 2:9 Therefore in those days I will retrieve my grain, and in those days I will retrieve my new wine, and will take away my wool and my linen to cover their nakedness.
“Therefore” is an explanatory word that connects and explains reason and effect.
you guys did it like this So I'm going to do this as well.
What did the people of Israel do when God said, “I will restore my grain, I will restore my new wine, and I will take my wool and my linen”?
5 They said, 'They give me my bread, my water, my wool, my linen, my oil, and my wine.
Who says give ? It is said that Baal gives.
Who do you say it will be ? say it's yours.
At that time, it was said that God builds up thorns and walls to block the way (verse 6).
Hos 2:8 The grain, the new wine, and the oil I gave him, and the silver and gold they used for Baal, which I also gave to him, and he does not know it all the time.
Who said it was given ? God
But who was it written for? Baal
9 Therefore, in those days I will retrieve my grain, and in those days I will retrieve my new wine, and will take my wool and my linen to cover their nakedness.
If what God has given is mine, what do you think God will do?
You say you are looking for a road.
What do you say when you do something God hates with what God has given you?
take the road
Even if you block it, if you continue to disobey, now it will be found and taken away.
Even though it was given by God, we do not know that it is God's, and we do not know that it is God's but that it is God's.
We definitely need to know.
It is God who gives and God who takes away.... You must know that everything belongs to God. How did Job confess?
Job 1:20 Job arose and tore his cloak and shaved his head, and fell to the ground and worshiped.
Job 1:21 He said, Naked I went out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there; the LORD gave, and the LORD took away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
Job 1:22 In all these things, Job did not sin, nor did he foolishly grumble against God.
3. I will expose the shame.
Hos 2:10 Now I will expose her shame before the eyes of her lover, and no one will be able to deliver her from my hand.
Lover - Baal
What we like - money, fame, children, . .
4. I will take away all joy.
Hos 2:11 I will abolish all their joys and feasts, new moons and sabbaths, and all feasts.
Feasts: Passover, Pentecost, Feast of Tabernacles
New Moon: New moon, make new.
Sabbath: New Year's Eve, Separation, Blessing.
All holidays:
5. I will punish you according to the time you served.
Hos 2:13 She adorns her with earrings and jewellery, and goes after her lover, and forgets me and burns incense, and I will punish her according to the days she served the Baals, says the LORD.
closing words
How can we live in God's grace and blessings?
1. You need to know.
What do I need to know?
Hosea 2:8 The grain, the new wine, and the oil I gave him, and the silver and gold which they used for Baal, I added to him, and he does not know.
2. Don't forget. Don't forget.
What should we not forget ?
Hos 2:13 And she shall adorn her with earrings and ornaments, and go after her lover, and forget me, and burn incense, and I will punish her according to the number of days she served the eggs, says the LORD.
