Title: God I Met at Bethel
Contents
Through the Bible, we encounter the hand of God's grace. More than anyone else, you will find the Lord who does not forsake Jacob, who is living in a worldly and human way, but holds him up to the end. In the text, God visits Jacob. Even though Jacob did not do anything special that would receive God's favor, God wants to come to Jacob and change him.
When God meets us, he doesn't meet us through work, he meets us as we are. God is very pleased with your loyalty and devotion, and He will surely reward you for your devotion and loyalty. However, there is no God who loves more because he does a good job and loves less because he does a bad job.
God is pleased with your prayers. He also answers those who pray and fills them with the riches of life. But God is not the kind of God who loves you because you prayed a lot and forsakes those who do not pray.
God is pleased to receive your worship. If you are pleased with those who worship you and if you win in worship, God will exalt your life. But He is not a God who always loves us because he went to worship and gives up on his life because he did not come to worship well.
I'm going to try to use a little knowledgeable expression for this, and I hope you all understand this expression well. “God does not look at our actions and loves us; He sees us and loves us.”
To put it simply, it is this. have children If you study well, you become your child, and if you do not study well, you become someone else's child. Regardless of whether I study well or not, my children are just my children.
My children do not become my children because they listen to me. They are my children even when they listen and obey. Because my children have accomplished great things for our family, they become my children, and they do not become other people's children because they ate up the family. Regardless of that, my children are just my children.
Such is God's love. Regardless of your actions, whether you seek God or not, whether you worship God or not, whether you love Jesus or not, you are already a child of Jesus. They are loved by the Lord, and for that reason, I hope that you will receive by faith the fact that to Jesus you are a precious existence that cannot be given up.
God did not love Jacob because he did what he loved. God did not bless Jacob because he did something that deserved the blessing. A closer look at Jacob's life reveals that he had no reason to be chosen by God. He was a man who always thought and acted egotistically. Compared to his masculine older brother Esau, Jacob was cunning, cunning, and changed his color like a chameleon according to the situation. As we look to God who does not forsake Jacob and gives us blessings, we learn what perfect grace is. If God decides, he can change even the most desperate people.
Acknowledging this fact can lead to an important realization. what kind of enlightenment The starting point of our faith is that it is God, not me. If God did not move our hearts and change us, we would not be able to sit here now. Even more so as I am preaching, please remember that it is a great grace of God that we are sitting here praising God's name and worshiping Him.
We can call on the Lord because God has visited us and met us. It seems that I decided to believe, but the truth is that God delivered the gospel to me through someone and moved my heart, so I came here.
I want all of us to experience the God who met Jacob through today's Word. If God has met people like Jacob, he will also meet us. And I believe that you are eagerly looking forward to meeting you. I hope that we will all meet Jacob at Bethel and meet God again.
