Title: God Is Holy
holy nature of the Lord
Today, let's consider the second way to meet God through 1 Peter. Be holy, because I am holy (1 Peter 1:16). There is a secret to meeting God in these words.
I am the LORD your God, and since I am holy, set your body apart and sanctify it (Leviticus 11:44). This means ‘God is undefiled and without sin’. Lies do not work with God. God is light without darkness and is holy. Therefore, if you want to meet God, you must have no sin. Just as darkness cannot exist before holiness and light, sin is absolutely unacceptable before God.
Justice is one of the attributes of God. A just and holy God cannot tolerate sin. But at the same time, God forgives the sinner. In order to forgive sinners, God sent His Son to die on the cross as the price for our sins, and we receive forgiveness through the death of Jesus.
The reason we cannot meet God is because our hearts are dirty (Matthew 5:8). Humans do not like to admit their sins. So I keep making excuses to God. You can see that Adam, the first human, who ate the forbidden fruit and hid in shame, also blamed Eve and God.
Although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were they thankful for Him. On the contrary, their thoughts became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. (Romans 1:21) If you look inside a human being, you will find nothing but garbage. Humans have a virus called sin. As long as there is a sin, there is absolutely no chance to meet God.
The conclusion is simple. It means that we can meet God only when our sins are completely washed away.
forgiveness through the cross
The Bible tells us good news. He promised to make even sins as red as crimson as white as wool. (Isa 1:18) It is impossible to wash away your sins by yourself.
There is no salvation unless God washes us. God promises to wash away all our sins just as a thick cloud vanishes in one morning (Isaiah 44:22). He also says that He will keep our sins as far away from us as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). Forgiveness is just that.
Forgiveness of sins is God's work. (1 John 1:8, 9) So now we have to give up thinking, ‘What am I going to do?
Gentlemen, when we were good and clever and not righteous, but sinners, Jesus Christ forgave me by letting him die for me (Romans 5:8)
As we see in Romans 3:25, God set up this Jesus as a propitiation through faith through his blood, that God might show his righteousness by forgiving the sins he had committed before, in the forbearance of God (Romans 3:25). Christ says He will overlook all our previous sins. It means that you will be treated as if you were innocent.
the secret to faith
When Jesus died on the cross, He said, “It is finished.” This is a very important word. He says that the receipt of sin has been cut off. When I believe in Jesus Christ, all my sins are forgiven.
The work of the Holy Spirit is amazing. Just believe in the fact that Jesus completely forgave my sins by dying on the cross for me. If you believe in this fact and pray, the Holy Spirit will come upon you. When the Holy Spirit comes upon me, I feel the sin draining out of my body. Dirty ghosts go out and your life changes. It changes from being in love with the world to being pleasing to God. Further, you will forgive the person you could never forgive. This is the power of the cross. You will find peace that the world cannot comprehend and cannot give.
I respectfully ask those of you who have never met God. Believe in Jesus. The saying that you can be saved by believing in Jesus is a fact that no rational person can understand. But when you receive the Holy Spirit, you believe in that Jesus. This is a miracle.
The world of faith is mysterious. With each step you take in faith, you will come to realize the deeper mystery of faith. Believe in Jesus, believe in the cross, and believe in the resurrection, the miracle of faith takes place. The joy of believing in Jesus that I did not know before springs up. I can't convince you.
I hope that the Holy Spirit will come upon you and that God will be within you. When you start to believe that fact, God begins to come to you. I will not think of your sins, and I will treat you as if I had never sinned. Dear brothers and sisters,
Have you never met God? I politely say to you all. Believe in Jesus.
From then on, I believe that an amazing world will unfold before you. Confess with your mouth. (John 1:12) I believe that your life will go on a path of blessing.
