Title: God Is With You

Content >

bsp; 2 Samuel 5:9-10

bsp; Today's text is a good summary of David's life. I am saying two things. It is said that David acted with wisdom on his own, and God's grace was on it. This is the summary of David's life.

bsp; David is a king who is exalted as the greatest of all kings. He left a great mark, and the land of the country was large during his reign. However, the result of this was not simply because he was wise and well governed, but because the Lord, the God of hosts, was with him.

In reality, David's life was the life of Hagnac. A native of a shepherd, he was the youngest of eight brothers. Even when Samuel visited his home, he was not well-received in the house so much that he could not be caught among the brothers. However, you have chosen It wasn't because he looked great, it wasn't because he was taller than anyone else. He did this after seeing the faith of the heart, looking at the heart. Look at his faith and his spirit when he came before Goliath. It was a courage and faith that could never be achieved by simply imitating faith. It was a powerful faith that came from experience. Hear what he said as he stood before Goliath.

You come to me with sword and spear and javelin

I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts....God...

I will let this crowd know that the LORD saves not with sword and spear.

The war belongs to the LORD, and he will deliver you into our hands. 1 Samuel 17:45, 47

It is a declaration that God believes and moves forward. It is a declaration that you believe that God is with you. Would these words just come out on their own? How did this belief come about? What is even more surprising is that David's faith did not change throughout his life. It was always the same when he was a shepherd, when he became king, and when he was in trouble. Hanap ki? We have faith together and always have faith in the fear of God.

bsp; ‘Look. I was in a position to kill you. I could have taken your life if I had made up my mind. But I didn't. Look at this evidence. But how can you, the king of a country, waste your national power by searching all over the country to kill me, the little one?’

David's attitude and heart stemmed from his faith in the fear of God. My heart that I will not take offense at the king whom God has chosen and established is the faith of the fear of God. Faith in obedience to God's Word, faith to please God, that dominated his entire life. Even when he was a shepherd, he lived centered on God, he stood with this faith when he stood before Goliath, and even when he became king, this faith did not change. You can see his heart of faith in the way he danced with joy when he brought the ark to the palace. There were many mistakes in his life, but the focus was always there.

bsp; Look at Saul here. What kind of person was he? Saul was at first a very humble, trusting man. Saul was a tall and strong man. When he was first chosen to be king, he hid himself because he did not deserve to be king. It was humility. He was in good shape, courageous, and humble. However, they did not keep the faith centered on God, the faith of fear of God until the very end. Because Saul was polluted with power, polluted with greed, and polluted with people, he lost his first heart, first thought, and first faith. He did the sacrifices that only priests could do on his own, and he was not able to obey God's word because his heart was shaken by wealth. He was physically strong, but his spirit was not strong, so he was always shaken by anxiety. Because of this heart, I fell into a sense of inferiority and suffered from depression. He transferred his uneasy heart to David, became angry with him, and pursued David, sweeping the country to get rid of him. In the end, Saul wasted his entire life on the complex about David and ruined it.

bsp; I read this story. One day Dr. Norman Vincent Peel was traveling by train. Sitting opposite him was a middle-aged couple, whose wife was constantly murmuring and complaining. The seats are uncomfortable. The sheets are dirty. It doesn't clean properly and it smells. The flight attendants were also unfriendly and complained of all sorts of things. The husband, who had listened to his wife's complaints, greeted Dr. Phil and introduced himself.

'Good morning? I am a lawyer, and my wife is a manufacturer.’

Phil asked.

‘What kind of manufacturing industry does your wife engage in?’

Then the husband replied with a smile.

“My wife is a manufacturer who always makes complaints.”

It is not clear whether this is a made-up story or a true story, but those who believe in what is happening in their life and live a God-centered life are grateful for everything, and can overcome difficulties with faith even when difficulties come, and build themselves up through prayer even in difficult times , I think it means that if you look at the world only from yourself and try to live the world only with your own thoughts, you will become a complaining manufacturer.

bsp; Saul lived such a life, David believed in God and lived God-centered, always victorious in the midst of difficulties.

bsp; I see that the fear and interest in radioactivity, which started due to the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, is growing. Modern civilization is truly dazzling. We live in an era where cell phones come in so many varieties that it is impossible to memorize their names, and items bought a year ago become outdated. You don't know how convenient it has become to live. But you realize that all of this civilization and convenience depend on just one line. That's electricity. Everything we use, conveniences, amazing features, all depend on that one line of electricity. This time, the nuclear accident in Japan was that the electricity was cut off at the nuclear power plant that produced electricity. No matter how cutting-edge technology is, it is useless without electricity. In fact, people living in such big cities are living a life that is not very convenient, but if one line of electricity is cut off, they will be in a situation where they will not be able to move. If that one pipe of tap water is cut off, all life will be cut off.

bsp; Today's Bible text speaks of it. It is said that David built a wall to strengthen his national defense and named it ‘City of David’. It refers to the city of Jerusalem today. However, it is telling us that even if the fortress is built like that, God will be with us so that it will be kept strong and strong.

David lived in the fortress and named it the City of David.

David built the wall from Millo inward.

The LORD, the God of hosts, was with him, and David grew stronger and stronger. 2 Samuel 5:9-10

No matter how strong David built the city, if God did not build it, his efforts would be in vain. No matter how well you try to govern, if you are not cool, all your efforts and efforts will be in vain. It reminds me of Psalm 127.

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.

Unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

It is in vain that you rise early and lie down late and eat the bread of toil.

Therefore the LORD gives sleep to those he loves. 127:1-3

bsp; The meaning of these words is that God is the master of life. No matter how hard a person puts in his efforts, it can all be in vain. An unexpected illness or a terrible accident can strike anyone. Buying insurance and depositing in the bank is to protect your life from the unexpected. However, when the Lord builds the house, the house can stand strong, and when the Lord protects the city, the city can be safe. It is necessary to have a happy business to succeed in business, and to be strong and healthy is to have a successful life. is.

bsp; Therefore, Christians must open their hearts to God. We must open our lives to God. Ha Naeng-go, Hanap, but still? The Word of God should be the foundation of your life. Such a life is a successful life and a blessed life.

Commit your way to the LORD, trust in him, and he will do it, and make your righteousness shine like a light... Psalm 37:5-6

Commit your deeds to the LORD. Then your management will come to fruition. Proverbs 16:3

bsp; David was a great king. He was a very wise king. His actions in the various events of the Bible show how wise he is. (Abner, Joab, etc., 2 Samuel 3:22-39) However, it is not because of his wisdom that he became such a good king, but because he was with him. The reason is that he had faith in the fear of God and always entrusted his life to God and opened it up. Thus, he became a prosperous person because he protected him, guided him, and was with him.

The LORD, the God of hosts, was with him, and David grew stronger and stronger.

The Lord, the God of hosts, is with you ( ), and he is growing stronger and stronger. Amen

bsp; Congratulations on your confession.
