Title: God of Healing / Exodus 15:22-27
It is said that man has two scales. One is a scale that weighs itself, and the other is a scale that weighs others. With these two scales, sometimes I use this scale and sometimes I use the scale.
However, these two scales have different scales. The life of a scale is accuracy, and these two scales give different values even when the same object is weighed.
It is said that traders are constantly tempted to deceive. Because the original purpose of business is to make a profit, if you focus only on that profit, you will be tempted to sell by deceiving. This was also true of the Israelites who believed in God (Amos 8:5). They had two different weights, and they fooled unsuspecting guests.
It is said that God hates uneven weights and deceptive scales (Proverbs 10:23, 11:1). God told the people of Israel, "Do not practice iniquity in judgment or measure or measure, but use fair scales" (Leviticus 19:36).
Let's read Deuteronomy 25:13-15 together.
"You shall not put in your pocket equal weights, large and small, and you shall not put in your house not equal weights, large and small; but only equal weights and equal weights, and fair weights. Your days will be long in the land the LORD your God is giving you."
Guys, is it a blessing to live long? Some people say that longevity is not a blessing but a disgrace, but living long in suffering is a disgrace, so why is it a disgrace to live a long life in the grace of God?
The Bible says that if we keep the word of God, we and our descendants will be blessed, and we will live indefinitely in the land our God is giving us (Deuteronomy 4:40). The Bible says that living a long life in the grace of God is a blessed thing.
Abraham received a covenant from God, "You will live long and return to your fathers in peace" (Genesis 15:15). "To live long and die in peace." Isn't this our wish?
So who will live long?
It is said that those who fear the Lord will live long (Proverbs 10:27). Also, those who hate greed will live long (Proverbs 28:16). He said that if we keep God's commands in our hearts, we will not only prosper but also have peace (Proverbs 3:1-2).
The two scales within us are the eyes through which we see the world. We have different eyes to see ourselves and other eyes to see others. Even with the same words and deeds, it doesn't matter if you see them through your own eyes, but if you see them through the eyes of others, it's illegal. This is where the saying "If I do it, it's romance, if others do it, it's a scandal".
Having two eyes within us also means that we have two laws to obey. One is the law I must follow, and the other is the law that others must obey. When we see other people, we are not applying the laws that we should obey, we are applying the laws that other people are supposed to follow. Therefore, I am always righteous while others are fundamentally wrong.
Everyone!
Do you know that we are hurt because we have two different scales? God hates that we have two different scales. God hates that we see the world with two eyes. God hates that we have two different laws.
God wants us to worship only one God and serve Him alone. God only wants us to obey His Word. There is only one law of God that we must obey. The laws we have to apply to ourselves and to others are God's laws.
Having two scales is very tiring. Sometimes you have to use this scale and sometimes you have to use a scale. We may be so used to using two different scales that we don't feel any discomfort. But mistakes happen unexpectedly. One mistake will ruin all your hard work. Not only that. Using two scales puts our souls under constant stress. We need to know this.
When the operation is performed, the lesion is removed, but our body is subjected to great stress. As a result, the body's resistance decreases. It takes several months for that resistance to recover. Our mind thinks that our body is all right, but in reality, our body is under more serious stress than we think. Likewise, the two scales put great stress on our souls. It is easy for us to ignore the stress on the soul. Because it is invisible. But it is destroying our precious lives. For this reason, the Bible says, "The wicked do not prosper and do not live long" (Ecclesiastes 8:13).
The status of the children of Israel in Egypt was slavery. The value of a species is nothing more than a good listener. When a servant is smart, he is oppressed and abused by his threatened owner. God freed these children of Israel from Egypt. God wanted to lead the children of Israel to the land of Canaan, flowing with milk and honey.
What awaited the children of Israel who had escaped Egypt was the Red Sea, and as they narrowly crossed the Red Sea, a barren wilderness appeared. There was not enough food or water to drink in the wilderness. All of these were from God. When I was in Egypt, my Egyptian master gave me all these things, but now I had to ask God. The Israelites' exodus from Egypt means that they came to serve the Egyptians as their masters and then to serve God as their masters.
If God is our master, then we must obey God's commands and laws and do God's will. What we should look at is the land of Canaan flowing with milk and honey, not the hardships we will experience while we get there.
However, the children of Israel often resented Moses. When they complained against Moses, it means that they regretted leaving Egypt. It was good to be in Egypt. It's not too late even now, so they're urging them to go back to Egypt. They are longing for the old life of living but dead.
A person who has decided to serve God must not have a different heart. God has promised to give us the land of Canaan. Our hope and goal is the land of Canaan that God has given us. But to enter Canaan, you have to go through the wilderness. The wilderness is a rough land. It is a place where you have to go through a lot of suffering. What does this say? Just because you believe in God doesn't mean that everything will work out right away. Believers need patience. Those who believe in God must live by faith only in the word of promise. God is not pleased when we step back because we have encountered unexpected difficulties.
In fact, the children of Israel were not abandoned by God. They are under the grace of God. It is not God's grace to provide everything we want. Isn't it not loving your children to give them everything they want? What would happen to the child if the parents gave their child what they wanted? Are you more than a premature baby who can't control their emotions?
God's love is shown in training us. If we know that we are in God's grace, no one will complain that things didn't go according to my will.
It is not God's grace that the children of Israel escaped from Egypt and crossed the Red Sea. It was God's grace that led them to the barren wilderness of Sur, where there was no water to drink even after walking for three days. It is God's grace that when they drank Mara's water, the water was so bitter that they could not drink it.
Why are these graces of God? All of this is because the children of Israel remember God and depend on God.
Everyone!
There is no law that says there must be water in the Wilderness of Sur. There is no law that Mara's water must be drinkable. It is just our expectation. We grumble and complain because it turns out that our expectations have gone awry, but there is no law that everything should be as we expected.
It is God who sweetens the bitter waters of Marah. It is God who leads us to the Elim oasis, where there are twelve springs of water and seventy palms. We must not live according to our thoughts and wills. We must listen to God's word and live a life of keeping His commandments and ordinances. This is the way we are healed.
Let's unite the two scales within us into one. It is to unify the two laws within us into one. The scale used to sell and the scale used to buy should be the same. Laws that apply to ourselves and laws that apply to others must be the same. The only scale, the law, that should be in us is the Word of God.
God's Word is our food. God's Word gives us life. The Word of God is our eyes, and the Word of God is our law.
?쏧f you will obey the word of the LORD your God, do what is right in my sight, and obey my commandments and keep all my ordinances, then I will not bring upon you one of all the diseases I brought upon the Egyptians. Im."
The secret to being able to effectively control our greed is to make the Word of God the only standard for our lives, to trust in it, and to obey it completely. The secret to a long life in peace and not to be confused is that the word of God be the only lamp in our lives. It is not the medicine that is good for the body, but the word of God that heals our divided souls.
God heals through His Word. With the word of God, we can relieve stress without a trace.
I want to give up my greed and my plans and fill my character, heart, and life with the Word of God only.
