The text is Matthew 1:18-23
I pray that the peace, comfort, and joy that the God of Immanuel gives through Christmas will be filled with the love of the saints, their families, and our nation as well as the nations and the world.
First, it was Emmanuel through an angel.
Second, He became Immanuel through the incarnation. He Himself came to this earth and is Emmanuel with us. This is Jesus, and Christmas is to commemorate the day he came. There is no greater blessing than this. Although God has blessed everyone in Genesis 1-2, the blessings are meaningless to those who have sinned and departed from God. Because you will go to hell anyway. However, the fact that we and God are with us through the only begotten Son Jesus Christ is the good news among the blessings and the good news among the good news. God came to this low and lowly earth from the throne of heaven to be us and Immanuel. ② The Word became flesh and came in human form. ③ Two thousand years ago, he lived and lived with the people of that time. Immanuel itself is a grace and gospel that cannot be described in words. ④ He died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead in order to be with us forever, Immanuel.
Third, by sending the Holy Spirit, He is with us and Emmanuel.
He came to us as a temple and said, “In that day you will know that I am in the Father, and you in Me, and I in you” (John 14:20). He will send the Holy Spirit to be with us always until the end of the age (Matthew 28:20), and after this world we will live together in God's house forever, Immanuel. Making Immanuel as an angel is the process of becoming Emmanuel through Jesus, and making Emmanuel through the Holy Spirit is the process of becoming Immanuel forever in heaven.
Immanuel! God is with us. It is the culmination of God's holy and sinless love. This love is greatest in the Christmas of the incarnation and the death of the cross. At the Christmas of this precious Immanuel, “Glory in heaven and peace on earth”, “Hope in this country! Good news to your neighbors! For us, thanks and praise!”
