Title: God of Training
Contents Exodus 2 tells the story of Moses' birth, growth in the royal palace, his escape to the wilderness of Midian, and the preparation period to take care of the Israelites. Dear saint! From now on, you will see God who drives his work. First of all, God made Moses, who will be used as his instrument, be born into a devout family. Jochebed did not follow Pharaoh's command that all Hebrew newborn boys should be killed, but raised this child with faith in God (Hebrews 11:13). However, in the end, the child is put in a box and floated on the water of the Nile, and to his surprise, Pharaoh's daughter rescues it.
First, Moses will be brought up in the royal palace of Egypt, which boasts the highest civilization at the time.
However, Moses always had a heart for his people who were suffering, and in the end, he killed the Egyptian bishop and escaped. After fleeing as far as the Wilderness of Midian, Moses started a family there and lived only as a shepherd.
Second, while sojourning in the wilderness, Moses thoroughly realizes that he cannot do anything by his own strength.
Although Moses himself did not know it, God made it a period of preparation to take care of a much larger flock, the young nation of Israel, throughout that long period of time. Meanwhile, the Israelites in Egypt were groaning under ever-increasing labor. So, did God really forget his people? See verse 24. God has not forgotten the covenant he made with their ancestors.
Dear saint! It was no accident that Pharaoh's daughter rescued Moses. After that, it was God's consideration that Moses was brought up in the royal palace of Egypt. However, it was not God's way that Moses tried to save his people with the blood of his old age. God works in his own way through his prepared people. Be conscious of His loving providence today, and prepare humbly. -Amen-
