Title: God the Creator / Revelation 4:11
Content Contrary to the fact that we were cluttered by the IMF cold wave at the beginning of the new year, advanced countries including the United States are noisy with the so-called human cloning problem.
On the 6th, a physicist named Richard Sid, who has been researching artificial insemination in Chicago, announced that he would establish a human cloning hospital, and the issue of human cloning was again raised as a hot issue.
Of course, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) immediately denounced the act as irresponsible, Congress is moving to legislate a ban on human cloning, and President Clinton has publicly opposed it, pointing out the severity of the problem.
Human cloning or animal cloning refers to genetic engineering technology that creates a large number of humans or animals with the same appearance or genetic traits through an artificial manipulation process. Animal cloning has been studied and practiced for over 20 years. Starting with tadpole cloning, various animal cloning has been made. In Korea, cloning of cows has also become a topic of discussion.
It was from last year that the issue of human cloning began to shock society as it was discussed in earnest. On February 23, 1997, the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh, England, unveiled Dolly, a 7-month-old cloned sheep made from animal cloning. However, Dolly's sheep clone is fundamentally different from the existing animal clones.
Although this is a technical explanation for genetic engineering, so far animal cloning has been done using germ cells. In other words, cloning is done using sperm or fertilized eggs. However, in the case of Dolly, the clone was made using normal somatic cells.
This is a major issue. Cloning a somatic cell is to create another living organism that has the same appearance and genetic traits as an already living organism. For example, it's like copying a document straight from a copier.
No matter how much a son resembles his father, the genetics are different. It's a completely different creature. But now, if you clone a human, a child with the same appearance and genetic traits as the father is born. You can make several of them too.
When Wilmut's research team at the Roslyn Institute announced the cloning of sheep in February last year, the scientific magazine [Nature] pointed out, "If sheep can be cloned, then it is the shepherd's turn." It was already predicted that this would be high. But the very next year, this year, the American physicist Sid already said that he was going to test human cloning. And it is said that they have already secured 4 couples who have agreed to this, and are also raising funds.
Now, as the fruit of love between a man and a woman, humans are not born through a mysterious life-formation process in their mother's womb, but are being made, manufactured and mass-produced in a laboratory. In the meantime, the era is coming when defective products are removed and only humans who are deemed necessary are produced on this earth.
Shall I give you a riddle? Some people do not have a belly button. Who? Adam and Eve. Human clones are still born in the womb of a surrogate mother and have a navel, but if technology advances further, the era will come when countless people without a navel may be born.
Then I worry that I will have to rewrite the Bible again. Job 10:8 says, "You have made me by your hand and made me into a whole." But now, what can we say because humans who will be born as human clones are not created by God? Maybe you will sing like this? “Did you create me with your own hands and become a whole body?”
Just as fallen man built the Tower of Babel in the Plains of Shinar and challenged God, the fallen modern scientific civilization is building another Tower of Babel and invading God's own realm. Just as the Tower of Babel collapsed due to God's wrath and a punishment difficult to bear came to mankind, now we are just afraid of what kind of punishment God's wrath will come upon mankind.
Let’s take a look at the text of the text that you read with such a fearful and sad heart.
God made all things.
The gist of Revelation 4:11 is that God created all things. In this verse, we can confirm the following three facts.
One is that God alone made all things.
When God created all things, he did not receive help from anyone. You didn't listen to anyone's advice. Because there was no need, and there was no such thing.
Genesis 2:21 tells us how God made the woman Eve. He put Adam into a deep sleep. And he took a rib and made a woman.
It should be noted that Adam fell into a deep sleep. Of course, you can think of it as some kind of anesthesia to relieve Adam's pain. But more importantly, it prevented human intervention in God's holy creative act. He prevented humans from seeing the divine life-creation process.
Yes, God's work of creation is the work of only God. No one has ever seen it. No one could help. God alone did it. So, no one knows about the creation of the heavens and the earth and the creation of life. No I don't know.
Modern science struggles to find out about the process of creation of the universe and the origin of life, but it cannot be known. As Einstein said, the knowledge discovered by modern science is nothing more than a child sitting on the beach and filling seawater with a shell. God's creative work remains a mystery in itself. And it must remain a mystery. If that mystery is uncovered, it means catastrophe for us.
We do not know how we were created or how this world was created. I don't even know. Only God knows. That is why we must humbly fear our Creator God, who made us, and bow our knees to Him.
Both are that God created something out of nothing.
If you look at the Hebrew Bible in the original language, the first word used in the Bible is the word 'bresis'. The translation of this word is 'in the beginning'. We call it 'Genesis' because of its contents, but Jews call the book of Genesis Bresit after its first word. And the second word written after that is 'bara'. It is a word with the meaning of 'create' or 'make'.
This reveals that the first thing God did was created. He began to create from nothing. You can see that you started from nothing.
So, in the Hebrew Bible, the word to make is used separately. Barra is a verb and asa is a verb. The word hope is to create something out of nothing. In other words, making something without materials. The word “asa” refers to making something with certain ingredients, like a carpenter weaving a piece of wood, or a chef making jjajangmyeon by kneading the dough with flour.
Nowhere in the Hebrew Bible does the word “hope” is used when man makes something. I just use the word Asara. I wrote that we should hope only when God creates.
That's right. God made something out of nothing. But humans make milk from milk. Humans cannot create. It just transforms what was there.
You and I were created. It is not made by transforming existing materials. So it's precious.
Third, God created the heavens and the earth and all things.
Everything that exists on this earth was created by God. You made time. You made space. Everything that exists in it, animals and plants, and we humans were created by God.
This means that the owner of all of this is God.
When I was in America, I visited an art gallery in Manhattan, New York. At that time, original paintings by world-famous artists were on display. We have put together the masterpieces that we have only heard of in one place. I didn't know much, but I knew the famous Gogh sunflowers. When I listened to the guide's explanation, it was said that it was owned by a certain number who had gone through the hands of several people.
The owner of this painting must be the symbol whose name is not immediately known. However, just as ownership passed to many people, it will pass to someone else after a while. Therefore, who owns it now has no meaning for such luxury goods. What matters is who drew it. In other words, Gogh is the true owner of this painting, and he is also the eternal owner.
Everything we own is the work of God. God made it. Although it may be registered in my name on the register, it is only temporary. The true owner is God. The eternal owner is God. My family, my house, my property, and my life all belong to God. God is the master. It is important to realize this, acknowledge it and live it.
It was made according to the will of God.
If you look at the verse of the text, it says, 'All things were according to the will of the Lord'. It means that all things were created as God intended, as God planned.
It's gone now, but there has been an incident that has made us suffer over the past two or three years. It's a poor construction problem. The Seongsu Bridge collapsed, the subway cracked and water leaked, and a recently built building collapsed.
As a result of the investigation, there is only one conclusion. It was not built according to the blueprint. It means that they used materials that were not enough, they used defective materials, and they constructed it haphazardly. The bigger problem is that the supervision and completion inspection are also sloppy, so the design was broken down as a separate building.
However, there is no error in God's creative work. It was made according to God's design. Genesis 1:31 says, “God saw that it was very good.” This is the inspection result, the completion evaluation. It is a perfect construction, a model of sincere construction
So, looking at what God has made, there is nothing that is not beautiful. Breathtaking beauty is presented in the work of God.
No matter how elaborately humans make flowers, they cannot dare to imitate the beauty of wild flowers just blooming in the field. No matter how beautiful a human being may paint, he cannot dare to imitate that sunset over the 6.3 building.
There is something we need to keep in mind here.
First of all, we need to respect God's work that God made.
It is said in Psalm 36:9. "For you are the source of life..." Even though it may seem insignificant to our eyes, we must not forget that it is a work of art created by God. should be valued. Moreover, life should be respected with reverence. In particular, we must remember that human life is more precious than the world.
We must not forget that your life, not mine, is precious, and your personality is just as precious as mine.
The next thing is to preserve what God has made so beautiful. Theologians have conceptualized this human task as JPIC, the preservation of the creation order.
It is to keep the will that God put into the universe when he created it. In other words, let's preserve everything in the universe according to God's design.
Actually, the whole universe is groaning right now. It is as if a single loach went into a clear and clean pool of water and made muddy water. It is like a child who is immature with a picture drawn by an artist holding a brush and playing with it.
When a human touches the water, the water rots. If you touch the ground, it rots. If you touch the sea, the sea will rot, and if you touch the sky, the sky will rot.
Why? Because it reflects one's own desires. It's because they don't follow God's design. This nature created by God and our human life must be well preserved. We must preserve it according to the will of God.
