Title: God the Judge/Hebrews 9:27-28
Content God as Judge/Hebrews 9:27-28
“It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment” (Hebrews 9:27-28).
Everything in the world has an end and an evaluation follows. Those who do well have a reward. However, those who are lazy or who are not faithful to their work will be disciplined. In extreme cases, they may be expelled from their jobs or positions.
First, God rewards the righteous on the Day of Judgment. In the parable of the talents in Matthew 25, Jesus commended those who received the two talents and those who received the five talents as good and faithful servants. And he entrusted me with more and told me to share in the joy of the master. Also, in the Sermon on the Mount, we are told to rejoice and rejoice when we face tribulation and persecution in the world. Because the reward in heaven is great (Matthew 5:12). The God we believe in is a God who repays us and rewards us according to our deeds (Hebrews 11:6). The coming Lord will repay people according to their work (Rev 22:12).
Second, sinners and the wicked will receive eternal punishment (Matthew 25:46). Many commit all kinds of sins and say that death is the end. And worse, they think that if they commit suicide, it's the end of everything. However, the Bible, the Word of God, warns that this is absolutely not the case. He warns those who have sinned and have not repented of the eternal punishment of hell awaiting them (Luke 3:17).
Third, we must believe in God's judgment. There must be a historical as well as a personal end. We must do our best every day with eschatological faith.
