Title: God the Potter

content />

Jeremiah 18:1-6

bsp; ‘The potter’ is an old expression meaning ‘a potter’. It appears 14 times in the Old Testament alone, of which 10 appears in Isaiah and Jeremiah. In particular, if you look at the story of today's text, you can see the power of God in your appearance. Although God is an incomparable object, it means that you realized God's power in the way you work. What did Jeremiah see in his hand? Yo?

1. I saw God, the Lord of the world.

Looking at his hands, Jeremiah realized that the operation of all things in the universe depended on God's absolute will and providence. No matter how good the soil is, in the end, it is kneaded like this in your hands, touched like that, peeled off and pasted to become a vessel. Also, the vessel is not made to order and is made to be this type of vessel or that type of vessel with one's own thoughts, but is made large or small according to the plan and will.

Here, Jeremiah came to realize that God is the Lord of the universe and that He is in control of this work with His absolute sovereignty. That is why I realized that the solution to the problem lies with God. Jeremiah heard God's voice in his house, as politicians visit their neighbors' armies when the country is in peril, as the people bow down to visible idols, and the religious leaders spread false prophecies.

bsp; Can I not do this to you, O house of Israel?

bsp; O house of Israel, you are in my hands as clay is in my hands 18:6

This verse is the core of today's sermon. He is saying that any history, any problem, and any person can make a new one, just like a wide vessel can be made elongated, or a small vessel can be made into a large vessel by adding earth to it, if God desires it.

God is me. Faith is believing that God is the ruler of the world. It is to believe that the history of this world operates in the providence of God. So we can pray. So we can depend on God.

bsp; I lift my eyes to the mountains, where will my help come from?

bsp; My help is from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2

I hope the potter believes in God. Please believe that God is the owner of all things in the universe. Please believe that my help is with God.

2. I saw a God of power.

What Jeremiah saw as he looked at the hand that made the pots and realized that it was the hand of God's power. Jeremiah saw the hand of God's power to make the impossible possible. I saw the hand of change that changes everything, the hand of God's grace that makes anything new.

?The concave snout was made wider, and the smaller ones were made larger. What was just a lump of earth just a little while ago would turn into a bowl, a lid, a jar, a bowl, and a bowl of rice when lifted by the hand. Here, Jeremiah realized the power of God.

We can pray because we believe in this power of God. We pray because we believe that anything and any problem can be changed, changed, renewed, and perfected in the hands of God. Jeremiah said, “? I have seen these things.

God? He is God. He is the God who makes the impossible possible and makes the impossible possible. God can change circumstances in any case. He turns despair into hope. He turns suffering into a time of blessing. He breaks down the barriers of problems that stand in the way and lets you move forward.

Dear saints, please believe in God. Please believe in the power of God to change any situation. Whatever is in God's hands, whatever it is, He will break it and rub it into a new one. God is the God who clears the blockages, widens the narrow ones, fills the gaps, cuts the useless things, lifts the low things up, and straightens the crooked things the God who makes the impossible possible.

3. I saw a God who heals.

As Jeremiah looked at his hands at home, he realized that God is a God of healing. If you make a bowl and set it aside to dry well, it may tilt sideways, crack, and the indigo may fall on the spout. They filled it up and made new ones by adding new soil. Looking at the hands that polished the bowls, Jeremiah said that no matter how corrupt, wrong, or wretched his people may be, if God touches them, they will become whole again, I saw that I was refreshed and re-energized.

There is something going on in our country these days. Everyone is depressed. Just as mold spreads because it likes to be in the shade, there are people who spread warm and negative things like mold when the country is in turmoil and people are lost. There are those who, like hyenas, will bite when they see anything a little weak. We Christians should always look at hope and become people who sow hope. We believe that there will always be something new when God touches us, and we should always sing of hope.

As we go through life, there are times when we get hurt, hurt, when things don't go our way, when we get discouraged, disappointed, sit down, and despair. There are times when it hurts, tears and pain. My heart, like a broken vessel, is healed by the touch of God. My appearance, as if it had been cracked and punctured, was useless, and it was reshaped at the tip of my hand. He touches me, who is just a lump of mud, and makes me useless. I can be healed and changed by the touch of God.

?Please believe that God is a God who heals. God is a God of comfort, a God of love, and a God of healing. He is a God who does not break a bruised reed or put out a smoldering lamp (Isaiah 42:3).

When God heard Joseph, who had been sold as a slave, he became the ruler of all Egypt. David, who was a shepherd, was called and raised by God, and he became a person no one could follow. God strengthened and established Gideon, who was a coward in the countryside, and became a great warrior. It is God who crushed, crushed, reshaped, and baked Paul with the fire of the Holy Spirit to make it more useful and beautiful than any other vessel.

That God is our God. That God is with us now. He is the God who controls all the history of the world, makes the impossible possible, and heals the wounded soul. I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will be born again as new vessels of God every day before this God.
