The text is the scene where Jeremiah is called by God. When Jeremiah received his vocation, it was around 627 B.C.E., after the northern kingdom of Israel had already been destroyed by Assyria, and the southern kingdom of Judah was also on the verge of destruction. Jeremiah goes to Israel with the word of God and preaches it.
He knew Jeremiah long ago and ordained him as a prophet.
God did not establish Jeremiah overnight, but chose and established Jeremiah before the foundation of the world. God did not create me and you out of nowhere. I give glory to the God who chose me and called me. God's call to Jeremiah is revealed to all Christians. For the kingdom of God, God chooses regardless of age, occupation, status, or age to build the kingdom of God. What purpose does the God who called me have today?
When Jeremiah received his vocation, he felt very inadequate.
It is a feeling of pressure that all godly people who have been called by God feel. When he called Moses, he was afraid to see God. When he called Gideon, he confessed that he was the least. What all those who have met God have in common is that they realize that they are infinitely lacking and weak.
God who strengthens the weak
Just as good leaders make great teams, so God is the creator of history. God gives the word. God gives you power. God works together. God worked with Moses. God worked with Paul. He worked with Elijah. Those who know their weaknesses, I hope you will hold on to God.
The words of Jeremiah are judgment and restoration.
The words God gave to Jeremiah are the words of the future of Israel. It does not end with the knowledge or wisdom that we pass on to the world. It is an important gospel of life or death. The word of God that is preached today is not just a matter of making a living. It is not a word of success and success. It is not a matter of health or disease, but of judgment and restoration. Those who hear and believe will appear as restoration, and those who hear and do not believe will appear as judgment.
