Title/ God Who Wants True Worship
Text/ John 4:22-26
Dear saints,
How do you get the attention of your loved ones?
You need to know what the person likes (food, clothing, hobbies, personality, etc.).
It is necessary to change me so that the person draws attention to me.
What is faith, prayer, and worship? All are acts of God's attention.
We must be the object of God's attention. If you are indifferent to God's interests and care only about people's interests, you become “humanism.” (Romans 8:13) “If you live according to the flesh, you will surely die, but if you put to death the deeds of the body by the Spirit, you will live. Those who are led by the Spirit are the sons of God.”
The common thing between those who are with God and those whom God blesses them is that worship is important.
1, What is worship?
> Giving, not seeing.
The Greek word (latreia) is derived from latreuo, which means “to offer sacrifices.” Old Testament sacrifices were always offered, but sacrifices without offering to God were not accepted. Seven Feasts/Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Feast of Firstfruits, Feast of Weeks, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Feast of Tabernacles
The 5 major sacrifices/ burnt offering, grain offering, peace offering, atonement, and trespassing. All these sacrifices and festivals are the first to be offered.
We are looking for those who worship in the New Testament/True (Jesus Christ). to seek = (leteo) want. demand
Worship is the highest "glory" that man can give to God.
(Isaiah 43:7) “Let everyone who is called by my name come, whom I have created for my glory.”
(1 Corinthians 10:31) “Therefore whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
True worship is to present my existence to a God worthy of honor and glory.
2, What is the object of worship?
> Verse 21 to the Father, verse 23 to the Father, verse 24 to God,
The world worships what we do not know, but we worship what we know. Verse 22 (Isaiah 44:9) “An idol is useless, and its witnesses neither see nor know.”
The sacrifice of strangers you do not know is to bow down on the head of a pig...to steal and make a wish in front of a large tree or in front of man-made things.
(1 Corinthians 10:20) “For the sacrifices of the Gentiles are made to demons, not to God.
I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.”
Worship is for a child of God to have fellowship with God, but if you know that idolatry is fellowship with a demon, you must immediately repent and stop worshiping an idol you do not know.
(Deuteronomy 32:17) “They did not sacrifice to God, but to the devil, which they did not know.
Gods, new gods that have arisen in recent years, things that your forefathers did not fear."
Realizing that the idols of this world are human works (Ps. 115:4) and they can do no good to me just because they receive our worship, we must worship only the God who exists (Deuteronomy 3:14).
3, What is true worship?
> Worship in spirit and truth The Bible translates the concept of “really” as “really,” which means that we must worship in truth.
God is a Spirit and He knows my heart.
In particular, the spirit world is very sensitive to sin.
(Isaiah 1:15) “When you spread out your hands, I will cover your eyes, and though you pray a lot, I will not listen.
No, for your hands are full of blood.”
What kind of worship is spiritual worship?
Hell/Pneuma Captivated by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:3) “By the Holy Spirit”
What is true worship? Truth means truth. (John 14:6) “The truth is Jesus”
God is looking for worshipers who, led by the Holy Spirit, offer their bodies as living sacrifices to God worthy to be glorified in Jesus Christ, and He is saying that now is the time.
Example) 10 people 10 colors worship
1, A double faction who stares at the pulpit because it is far away from the sermon, but has a different opinion
2, a meticulous group who underlines notes and sees corrections
3, Amen-pa, nodding and nodding while sleeping and taking commas
4, the restlessness of looking at the watch from time to time
5, deaf people who communicate in writing with the person next to them
6, the skeptics who only think about meetings after worship
7, a loner who kills time by reading the Bible during sermons
8, Bungeoppa, who only opens their mouths when singing hymns
9, Contemplative group to make up for the lack of sleep by taking advantage of gaps in prayer time
10, Attendance checker who checks the number of people who have come or not
What type are you?
Let us all become obedient sects who worship God in spirit and in truth.
Hallelujah - Amen
