Title: Good Encounter, Good Faith (Proverbs 17:9)

good meeting good faith

Proverbs 17:9-10

The famous psychiatrist [Carl G. Jung] said, “When a man feels the limits of his authority, at least three psychological phenomena occur to him.” What this means is that when we look at what we are doing, we bump into a wall or when we are overpowered. “This is my limit,” he laments. That limit can sometimes be the limit of your intelligence. It can also limit your abilities. However, Carl Jung is referring to the psychological phenomenon that appears at the moment when you feel “this is the limit” on the path of life.

The first psychological phenomenon that comes to mind is, ‘What will happen after this limit?’ This is the limit, but it is impossible to predict what happens outside the limit. Therefore, there is no choice but to be anxious. At this point, no matter who you are, you are bound to feel insecure as if you are being thrown into a really messy ocean.

The second is. When a person thinks he has reached his limit, he is very much pressed against that limit. What you feel is that you feel heavier than the truth. And your existence loses courage as if it had completely disappeared. This is what happens when you press and press and you can't stand it. It makes me very weak.

People ask at least two questions without realizing it and discover their existence in the answers to those questions.

The first of those questions is to ask. Where the hell did humans come from? It is an endless riddle, but we can never get out of this question. Even if you are not a philosopher or a scientist, this must be asked and you must have an answer. Because here is my essence.

The first is to know how to see only the pretty side of oneself,

The second is to see only the bad things in others,

The third is to look at today and tomorrow in a dark way,

Fourth, seeing only the old things as the golden age,

Fifth, envious only of others,

And finally, it was said that other people do not like to be good.

If we are bound by anything today, there is a problem with my faith. It means that your relationship with God is broken. After all, there are problems with relationships with neighbors. As such, I would not be able to protect myself and would not even think of taking care of others. No, far from looking back, such a person only sees the faults of others. So, he is a person who spreads his faults to everyone he encounters. Our meeting shouldn't be like this.

Another wisdom is in verse 10. “In a word, the guarding against a clever man penetrates deeper than a hundred strikes a fool.” It speaks of the different attitudes of the wise and the foolish toward the beneficial rebuke of . The joint translation says, “It is better to rebuke a wise man once than to strike a hundred fools.” Do you understand what I mean? It is said that it is so difficult to teach a fool. A fool will never accept as absolutely necessary reproofs and advice that are beneficial to him. Maybe he is enlightening me that he doesn't know, but I think he hates him and wants him to be wrong.

There is a saying in [Myungsimbogam], “He who speaks of my goodness becomes a thief to me, and he who speaks of my evil becomes a teacher to me.” It means that advice rather than praise becomes the medicine in my life. But why do you become a fool? It is because trust in neighbors has been lost due to the severance of relationship with God. In simple words, they become fools because they lack faith. Today we must be believers. Only then can you become the person that each other needs.

Dear saints!

How did we meet each other? Have you met someone who has faith who can cover each other's faults? Is it a meeting of wise people who can take each other's advice? Good encounters make good faith. Please pray and make an effort so that we can meet each other well.
