Title: Good Words / Proverbs 16:21-24
When God created the heavens and the earth in the beginning, how did He make all things?
God is spirit. God does not have a body.
Therefore, God did not create all things with His hands.
Of course, there are many expressions in the Bible that compare God, who is the Spirit, to the human body.
That is, the words "hand of the Lord" or "hand of the Lord" were used quite often.
Naomi exhorted her two daughters-in-law to return to their homes, saying, “The hand of the Lord has struck me” (Ruth 1:13)
The psalmist said, "We stumble, but we do not fall very down, because the LORD holds us in his hand" (Psalm 37:24).
It even compares God's creation of the heavens and the earth and all things as if they were made by His hands.
Job said, "Your hand has made me into a whole body" (Job 10:8).
The Psalms say that “the hand of the Lord” made me (119:73), the heavens (102:25), the earth (95:5), and all things (8:6).
Jesus also referred to "the hand of God."
Because God is greater than all, no one can snatch Jesus' sheep out of the Father's hand (John 10:29).
Moreover, when Jesus died on the cross, he cried out, “Father, into your hands I commit my soul” (Luke 23:46).
All of these are parables.
Because God is a spirit, he does not have physical hands.
So, how did God create the heavens and the earth?
Yes, God created the heavens and the earth with His Word.
When God said, "Let there be light," there was light.
When God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, vegetables, and fruits," the earth made grass, vegetables, and fruits sprout.
In particular, God created man in His image.
Man became able to speak because he was created in the image of God.
Only man was created in the image of God.
This fact shows that only human beings can communicate verbally with God.
The Bible can be said to be a record of God speaking to His people, and His people responding to God.
What we can see from the fact that God created the heavens and the earth with his Word, and that the means of transportation between God and man is the word is the importance of “words”.
Everyone!
It's a silly assumption, but what if there were no words?
Perhaps the most uncomfortable thing for us as Christians is the fact that we cannot hear or obey God's Word.
And probably the fact that you can't have enough conversations with others.
Some of you may think that if you can't speak, you can use sign language.
If there were no words, sign language itself would be impossible.
This is because sign language is also based on speech.
What we thank God for is the fact that God has given us a “word”.
While words are so important, it is also true that we have suffered a lot because of them since the fall.
Gentle and virtuous words that come and go can reconcile families, while foolish and evil words break relationships.
What we need to know is that the foundation of a harmonious relationship is “good words”.
Everyone!
James said, "No man can tame the tongue; it is a restless child, full of deadly poison" (James 3:8).
The tongue is not tamed like a horse or a cow.
Even a tame animal sometimes becomes violent and hurts people, but how many people will an untamed tongue hurt?
That's why you need to gag your mouth to control it.
In other words, you have to learn to speak.
How many of us have learned to speak?
Except for a few, neither at home nor at school were taught to speak.
We have a tongue, but we haven't learned to control it.
It's like giving us guns and not teaching them how to care for and use them.
It's like giving us fire and not teaching us how to use it and how to manage it.
We only vaguely see, hear, and vaguely see others use fire and use guns.
That's why accidents happen often.
Here are 5 traits of someone who hasn't learned to speak.
(1) Speak hastily.
You make hasty judgments before you hear enough.
It takes considerable effort and patience to grasp the full story of an incident.
One or two clues won't get you to the heart of the case at first sight or hearing.
Nevertheless, we who have never learned to speak speak with leverage, as if we knew everything.
(2) Say it definitively.
Wouldn't it be great if all the problems in the world could be clearly divided into good and evil?
Most of the time we don't know who's right and who's wrong, or whether to choose this or that.
Nevertheless, we judge assertively and speak assertive.
It makes the problem more difficult to solve than it is.
We have to acknowledge the many possibilities.
You should know that my opinion is one of those diverse views.
(3) Speak harshly.
If you think that talking too harshly will make the other person accept your opinion, you are deceiving yourself.
Talking too harshly is evidence that you are obsessed with victim consciousness.
A person who speaks logically step by step is persuasive.
(4) Talk a lot.
If you talk a lot, you will say the same thing over and over again, and you will stutter.
If you talk long, you look like a vulgar person.
What do parents do when admonishing their children?
Do you just say a word or two and get your kids to think for themselves? Or do you convince your child long enough to understand?
Long talk is nothing more than nagging.
No one listens to nagging and is moved to put it into practice.
(5) Speak unilaterally.
Don't listen to what the other person is saying, just talk to yourself
Why are you speaking unilaterally?
Because you don't think what the other person is saying isn't worth listening to.
Thinking that whatever the other person says is a lie and is nothing more than an improvised excuse.
It's also because they think the other person is taking the wrong way.
Everyone!
We must learn to speak.
To be a good speaker, you must first overcome the above 5 pitfalls.
(1) Even if you want to speak in a hurry, be patient and wait until the situation is understood.
(2) Try not to say definitively, but try to explore various possibilities.
(3) Speak quietly with soft and logical words rather than harsh words.
(4) Speak as briefly as possible, sparingly.
(5) Rather than trying to say my own words, I accept the other person's words positively and listen actively.
Let's read verse 24 together.
“Good words are like honeycombs, sweet to the heart and healing to the bones.”
A good word means what we often call "good words."
Good words not only please the mind, but also the body.
A Christian should get into the habit of saying good things.
A harsh word is not a good word.
It is said that harsh words stir up anger. (Proverbs 15:1)
King Solomon died and his son Rehoboam became king.
Then the children of Israel, led by Jeroboam, came to King Rehoboam and begged him.
King Solomon placed a heavy yoke on them, but now King Rehoboam asked to lighten the yoke.
Then they would serve King Rehoboam.
Upon receiving this request, King Rehoboam consulted with the elders.
The elders answered, "If the king is hospitable to this people and speaks good words, they will be his servants forever."
Rehoboam did not like the answers of the elders.
So he consulted with younger courtiers of his age.
They advised the king to speak harshly.
“My father put a heavy yoke on you, but I will put a heavier yoke on you than that. My father beat you with whips, but I will with scorpions.”
When Jeroboam and the children of Israel heard the answer, they were angry.
So they refused to serve King Rehoboam and separated from Rehoboam and established a separate nation.
Good words wash away the gloom of the heart and wash away the hardships of the body.
I was told not to speak dirty or foolish words out of my mouth. (Ephesians 4:29, 5:4)
Bad horses are more toxic than anthrax.
Anthrax is eliminated by antibiotics, but the toxins produced by the anthrax are not eliminated by drugs, heat, or the like.
People with anthrax usually die from its toxicity.
Bad words are like this.
Therefore, we should always say good things.
Thank you.
I wanted to see you.
also you are the best
Love it.
That's a really good idea.
I think that's a better idea
I didn't realize it.
That's what I should do
you are precious to us
I really like the gift
That's a hidden worker
I feel at ease in your car
This is a good word.
What are some bad words?
Do you keep my habit?
Everything is going well
what should be
Are you getting old?
let it be as it is
let's see where
How did I ever meet someone like you and look like this
No matter what, there is nowhere I can't go!
There is no point in raising children.
I can't see because my eyes are so fierce.
I can't live because of you
Why are you buying such a difficult job?
Who knows that you work so hard?
My money isn't going, so I'm spending it a lot.
Only those who yield are fools
A person who speaks good words is the best teacher.
When people hear good things, they become great people.
Good words persuade and change people.
Let's say good things as Christians.
We who speak good words become teachers who nurture great people and spread blessings.
