Title: Gratitude and Miracle

Bible: John 11:38-44

In the United States, when children are born and raised, education before they enter elementary school is called preschool or king-the-garton. If you go to bookstores, there are textbooks that teach children from birth until they enter school. Pedagogical educators write books and have their parents teach them directly until they enter elementary school. Education at home is the most important for children's education. According to the book, the most important words a baby learns after birth are "excuse me", "I am sorry", "May I" and "Thank you." Explain that these words are words that create miracles.

I hope that today will be a time to reflect on how precious thanksgiving is today while thinking about the miracles Jesus created through the words of thanks.

As I always say, in the days of Jesus, it was a colonial state in the Roman era. Rome did not force the introduction of Roman culture into the colonies. Instead, it was economically exploited. So, when we think of Rome, we have an image of splendor, pleasure, and abundance. Relatively Roman-dominated countries were very poor. In such an era, as in the Bible today, it is big news to say that someone died and came back to life in 4 days. But the bigger news is that more than 5,000 people shared two fish and five loaves of bread. If we look at the Bible, the story of the resurrection of Lazarus from the dead appears only once in John 11, but the incident of feeding 5,000 people with five diseases is found in all four Gospels.

Andrew brought two fish and five loaves for a boy to eat. Then Jesus took the bread and fish and gave thanks to God. After the prayer of thanksgiving, the miracle of sharing by 5,000 people occurred.

There are two reasons why Jesus prayed thanksgiving. One, he had pity on the fact that more than 5,000 people could not eat and go home. Jesus knew that this heart of pity and compassion was the heart of God. I thank God for giving me that heart. Also, Jesus knew that God would provide what they needed, so that there were twelve baskets left even after five thousand people ate to their full. So Jesus thanked him.

If we also have a heart of compassion and compassion in our lives, then you already have the heart of God. Thank you. Not having such a heart is a disease. If we see the people in need around us and have a heart to participate in those difficulties, then you have the heart of God. I hope you will be grateful for that fact.

Also, we live in the provision of God. Thank God for providing us with what we need. Be grateful that you have something to eat now. Until just a few decades ago, there was a barley pass in Korea. But now nobody cares about what to eat. Thank God for providing us with what we need.

Also, in the 11th chapter of the Gospel of John we read today, Martha, Mary, and Lazarus have no parents because their parents died early. But while Jesus was away, news came that his brother Lazarus was seriously ill. It had been four days since Lazarus had died when Jesus arrived in Bethany. He says to Martha, who is weeping as she welcomes Jesus. “Do you believe in me? I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me will live even if he dies, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” Says.

Jesus stood in front of the cave where the body of Jesus had been dead for four days and said a prayer of thanks. There are two reasons for the prayer of thanksgiving. He believed that God would surely answer and was thankful. And when Lazarus from the dead comes out alive, he prayed while looking forward to the work of everyone believing in Jesus the Savior.

It is a fact that we, as children of God, believe in Jesus as our Savior and enjoy the blessing of eternal life. Realizing this fact, we know that we should be grateful.

Also in Matthew 11:25, Jesus offers a famous prayer. The meaning of the prayer is, “I give thanks to God for sending such people as Peter, John, and James, whom you call ignorant, to build the kingdom of God.” This is Jesus' prayer.

Everyone, if you hear this and say “Amen” to some of you in faith, thank God for making you realize it.

And Jesus gave thanks again in Luke 22. At that time, when Jesus broke the bread and broke the cup, he gave thanks. The bread and the cup represent the flesh and blood of Jesus. Thank you for taking up the cross for the sake of mankind. Thank you for doing God's will.

Dear saints, thank you that we take up the cross of Christ. This thanksgiving worked the miracle of the resurrection. Every time Jesus gave thanks, a miracle happened. I believe that miracles will happen in your life when you give thanks today.
