Title: Great Faith/Hebrews 11:1-3

Contents Great Faith/Hebrews 11:1-3

Key Verse: “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, by which the forefathers obtained the evidence” (verses 1-2).

Today is a noble day to commemorate and commemorate the day our ancestors shouted to the heavens for long live for freedom, independence, and independence in 1919 under the pressure of the Japanese. In protest against this, we lifted up the torch that illuminates the dark future of the nation with faith.

It was an act of faith to love God and to love the kingdom. “Faith without works is dead in itself... Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works” (James 2:17-18). The works of faith are a great expression of faith. Our ancestors showed the greatness of faith in the midst of national tribulation.

Hebrews 11 is the chapter of faith, and among them, verses 1 to 3 can be said to be the definition of faith. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.” Faith has great power.

First, faith has the power to see what we hope for but do not see right now. In front of the monument to President Lincoln who achieved the emancipation of black Americans, Martin Luther King preached in 1963 as follows:

“Brothers! What I am telling you today is that in spite of moments of hardship and despair, I still have a dream. One day my four little children will live in a country where they are not judged by the color of their skin, but only by their character. I have a dream that I will become

This was the faith of a fainted servant who worked hard to achieve the freedom and human rights of black people who are now invisible but eagerly hoped for. Faith does not only look at today, but God opens his eyes so that we can move forward toward tomorrow even in the face of hardship and adversity. It is spiritual power.

Second, faith has the power to overcome the trials that God's people face when they move forward. There is no history that can be accomplished without difficulties and hardships. If you look at those who succeeded in faith, they all suffered failures, setbacks, severe trials and sufferings. Faith is going to Almighty God, and faith is dependence on Almighty God. “O LORD Almighty! Blessed is the one who trusts in you” (Psalm 84:12). That is bold faith and boldness. Great strength comes from one faith: “I can do all things through him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).

A person of faith is not a person who kneels in front of problems and barriers, but a person who overcomes and overcomes in the Lord. A person of faith is a person who encounters difficult circumstances but does not give in and overcomes them in the Lord. May God be with the person of faith. because of.

Prayer: Heavenly Father of strength! Like the forefathers of faith, hold us so that we can overcome difficulties and trials with patience and faith of hope.
