Title: Greed and Destruction (James 01:14-15)
Description A banker's greed causes billions of dollars in losses to the bank, losses to customers' deposits, and sometimes shakes the bank's public confidence. The Bible makes this very clear.
"When lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death."
1. Tragedy of the Garden of Eden 1) The root of greed lies in the whispers of the devil.
2) The process of conceived by greed (1) Accepting temptation beyond fractions.
(2) Chewing the cud in the mind: dominates the imagination and produces dreams.
3) Begetting sin. Acting according to greed (a life that goes astray) 4) Death comes after the maturity of sin: When sin is justified, maturity.
(1) naked shame (2) anxiety and fear (3) judgment and curse
2. The destruction of King Saul (1 Samuel 15:13-23): commanded to destroy Amalek 1) Desire conceived: The devil spoke through the mouths of the people.
2) begets sin: disobedience 3) sin matures and begets death: justifies sin (1) continuation of disobedience (2) excuses for disobedience (3) judgment of God (1 Samuel 15:22-23).
3. Overcoming greed and ruin 1) Don't accept the words of the devil that puts greed in you.
(1) The temptation to exceed one's own fraction (Romans 12:3).
(2) Quite a rebellion against the Word of God.
(3) Continue to hear, see, and imagine the lusts of temptation, and do not dream.
2) If you have caused the sin of rebellion, (1) Repent of your sins: Do not justify your sins (2) Forsake the way of sin (Isaiah 55:6-7).
(3) Find obedience and the original fountain. (Honesty, sincerity, diligence) (Conclusion): The result of greed comes with great and small shame, anxiety and destruction. All despair in life is the price of greed.
Greed is the idolatry that God hates the most. True peace of mind consists in keeping one's fountain and serving God.
