The guidance of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16-18)
Galatians 5:16-18 “I tell you, walk by the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 The lust of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the lust of the Spirit is against the flesh. to prevent you from doing what you want. 18 If you are led by the Holy Spirit, you are not under the law.' - Amen.
Among the churchgoers, there are many difficulties in distinguishing the true saints of God from those who are religious. It is not so easy to judge a person, just as the other apostles did not know whether he was going to betray Jesus when Judas Iscariot was among the 12 apostles.
When you become God's people, some characteristics appear in your life.
A regular life of leaving the place of worship on Sundays,
tithing or offering,
prayer life,
These are things that lead to positive thoughts and activities in evangelism and service.
The Bible teaches in several places that we must be guided by the Holy Spirit in order to have a basic and clear center of life for these saints. Let us consider some of the reasons why we must be led by the Holy Spirit.
1. Because we are born again by the Holy Spirit
If you go to church, you are unconditionally called a saint, but it is correct to say that you are a member of the church. If you are a member of any church, you should say this. Being a saint is a word that is given a lot of responsibility. The word saint, hagios (a{gio"), means one who is consecrated from the common. It means a pure, righteous, and divine being.
Israel was called a holy people.
Deuteronomy 7:6 'You are a holy citizen of the LORD your God, and the LORD your God has chosen you from all the peoples of the earth to be a people for his inheritance'. The Bible, temple, sacraments, sacraments, scriptures (properties used in the church), temperament, and the marriage of saints are also called holy weddings.
John 3:5 "Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."
Romans 8:9 “If the Spirit of God dwells in you, you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not of Christ.”
1 Corinthians 12:3 “Therefore, I make it known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.”
The essential requirement of the saints who have become God's people is to be born again by the Holy Spirit and live under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Essentially, the state of the world and their souls are different.
2. To live the truth
When we live under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we show that power in several ways,
1) It represents the right dignity of the saints.
Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. there is no law'
2) You will make the truth your goal and position in life
John 16:13 “But when the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own, but will speak what he hears, and will make known to you things to come.”
Today, the church has many events and seminars, but the time to be filled with the Holy Spirit is not enough. Moreover, heretics falsely teach the filling of the Holy Spirit. Among them, the most dangerous and false teachings that are easy to be deceived by ordinary believers are psychological terms used without truth, such as positive thinking and the fourth-dimensional world.
Truth is not on a philosophical level. Because it is God's absolute revelation, we can only believe, depend, and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. If you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you will live in the truth and have victory through the grace of the Word.
If you are a person filled with the Holy Spirit and say something that ignores the truth of the Bible, that person is a false leader and only a religious person. Christianity is not a religion for results, it has a clear and holy goal. Church activities are unhealthy if they do not align with God's goals.
3. To be a witness
After Jesus had done all that he had done to testify on earth, before he ascended to heaven, he told his disciples to wait for the coming of the Holy Spirit, which the Father had promised. When the disciples gathered wholeheartedly and prayed for ten days, they were filled with the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. So they could do a good job of witnessing.
Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
From a biblical point of view, the greatest blessing among blessings is evangelism for eternal life. There is nothing greater and more blessed than investing money, time, and life in this work. If I receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit properly, I try to cooperate for the gospel of eternal life, either by myself or by sending it out. Being led by the Holy Spirit is not a one-time thing.
We need to be guided by the Holy Spirit in our daily lives.
Therefore, we must pray earnestly and wait earnestly for the Holy Spirit to move our hearts when we pray. I need to repent and empty my heart so that I can cast out all kinds of greed and the bitter root of personal weakness in my daily life and let the Holy Spirit rule over my heart. And you must earnestly seek it.
Luke 11:13 “If you, though evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”
If you are only a member of the church and your insides are always full of anxiety, dissatisfaction and pain, your life of faith becomes rather tiring. Therefore, I pray and pray every day to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and this fall, I pray that you and I will be filled with the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
