Title: Happy Chuseok (October 1)
Contents
The most important thing in our life of faith is the view of heaven. The world we live in is not an eternal place. Our eternal place is our hometown, or heaven, as in today's text. If you long for your hometown, you can walk on a better path. We are strangers to our eternal home. God has given us a holiday so that we will not be bored on this pilgrimage. (…) Look at society today. People who are addicted to computers say they don't know their families because of the game. Also, because of their children's education, they become a father and mother of goose and live apart. For economic reasons, it is difficult for families to get together because their commute times are different. Chuseok brings harmony, cooperation, and longing for families. It gives us time to share the difficulties we have experienced in our lives.(…) I pray in the name of the Lord that the members of the Sinchon Church have a very happy holiday on this Chuseok. So, how can I spend a happy Chuseok?
① You should spend Chuseok with thanks.
Because the world we live in is so harsh and difficult, we often forget to give thanks and live. Gratitude is the answer. It is to think deeply, realize and express. See with the eyes of faith. Think deeply and be grateful in difficult times. Even when things are going well, I think once, be humble, think again, and repent. This is the believer's answer. This Chuseok, thank you when you meet (…) When you meet relatives and separated family members, sit around in the evening and give thanks. “I didn’t succeed, but I am thankful that I bought the right thing. The business wasn't cool, so there were many things that went wrong, but I lived my life sincerely. It was a lot of hard work, but I gained faith.” I hope you will be so grateful.
② I am happy when I go back to my hometown.
I sometimes visit my hometown, Gammul-myeon, Goesan-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. When I go there, I see myself as a child. I have a lot of problems and worries, but it's all solved by looking at it from time to time. Because of it, they come back with contentment and peace of mind.(…) We all Christians live a life of sojourners longing for our homeland to God. The hometown we go to during the holidays is to practice going to Heaven, our hometown. Parents in their hometown should be seen with the heart of seeing God. Friends and relatives in my hometown will be happy if they meet people who have gone to heaven first.(…) My heart's hometown. father's house. The home of my soul, the home of God. This is the church. The church is a place where you can experience abundant comfort. When we meet our Heavenly Father, the problem is solved. I hope you have a happy Chuseok when you hear your father's voice.
③ I am happy when I get new clothes.
