Title: Happy People 2
Contents
How can our brains flood our brains with hormones of happiness like serotonin, dopamine, interferon, melatonin, oxytocin, endorphin, and didorphin? The Bible teaches the path to happiness in detail. Those are the eight blessings that Jesus taught. If we practice at least one of these, happiness will surely flow from not only the hormones in our brain, but also from the Holy Spirit of our Lord, and not only that, but also our lives will be transformed into heaven by the reign of God. So how can you be happy? Last week it was said that happiness comes to the poor in spirit, to those who mourn... to the meek, that is, to the humble and obedient...
4. Happiness comes to those who long for the righteousness of the Lord.
Verse 6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.” Chetek is a term with a strong contractual element while being legal. So, this righteousness is the righteousness of God, which is declared in the court of God or transformed into perfect righteousness, that is, the righteousness of Jesus that took the place of our sins. So, this righteousness is not my righteousness, but the righteousness that comes entirely from God.
Therefore, to be truly happy, we must enjoy the merits of Jesus Christ, who died for us, rose again, and ascended into heaven through faith and the Holy Spirit. So, God puts us in a certain environment so that we can realize our true nature and let us fall, fall, and be disappointed. So, he makes you realize how ugly you are. That is why he makes us realize that we are human beings who cannot stand upright without the righteousness of God. Therefore, we cannot receive the righteousness of the Lord without a strong heart of hunger and thirst. When you are hungry and thirsty, all you can think of is food and water. It is said that when they die of thirst in the desert, they cry out for water and die. He sees the illusion of water in his eyes and runs away. His kingdom and his righteousness that Jesus spoke of are mine only when we seek it with such longing.
5. Happiness comes from being compassionate.
Verse 7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.” Mercy comes from eleos, which means 'mercy', which means to forgive sins and to sympathize with those who are in need and ridiculed. Forgiveness and compassion for others is my happiness. Just as God has mercy on us, when we also have compassion on others, God's mercy is perfected in us. So, happiness doesn't just happen. It is obtained when we give and give.
Austrian psychologist Dr. Alfred Edler gave a special prescription to the depressed patients who came to him, saying that they could recover their health if they followed the prescription for only two weeks. What was the prescription? It was to come up with an idea that would please others every day and put it into practice. Those who heard that said, what's the prescription? Those who laughed but did it experienced the disappearance of depression. Why? Because God gives great grace to those who love him.
So, people who suffer from the same serious disease but spend the rest of their lives for people who suffer like themselves, usually get better or live longer than the same patients because they have stronger immunity to fight the disease. This is because, although one's body has diseases, the hormone of happiness is released more when we live in service, and God fills our soul with the grace of happiness. Therefore, I must forgive in order to receive God's forgiveness. In Matthew 6:14-15, Jesus said, “If you forgive men, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do not forgive men, your Father will not forgive you.” When the Holy Spirit comes, the heart of the Holy Spirit appears. So we have compassion in our hearts. A love that can forgive and love even the enemy arises. Then the true mercy of God will come upon us.
6. You must be pure in heart.
Verse 8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” Have you seen God? Everyone must see God. For those who have not seen God, I will show you how to see God. However, if you see God with your physical eyes, you cannot live in overwhelming glory. How can a sinful man directly see a holy God?
So what does it mean to see God? If you look at the Greek word 'wasontai' that you will see here, it means 'to see through experience' or 'to see in reality', not through the eyes of the flesh. In other words, it is spring that can be felt and experienced through its presence. Just as a fetus feels its mother in its mother's womb, it speaks of God coming into our hearts with a sense of happiness. So it is the presence of God. The presence of God is the greatest happiness. That is why Philippians 4:7 says, “The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding.” No matter how strong the peace of God, it overwhelms any wounds or emotions. That's why Larry Kreb said, "It is far better to taste a little of God than to taste a lot in abundance." The Bible teaches us how to enjoy God's presence. It tells you to keep your heart clean. That is why Hebrews 12:14 says, “Pursue peace with all men and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.”
7. Happiness comes when you make peace.
One day, Mr. Moody went out to evangelize with his disciples. But I went there for a week, but I told no one, “Believe in Jesus.” did not preach. But the following Sunday, the chapel was full. The disciples were curious and asked, “Teacher! Why is the chapel full when we have not preached?” Ms. Moody said, “We did a good job of silent evangelism for a week. In the meantime, haven't you brought up a crying child, pushed a cart with heavy loads, and helped the poor?" Even if you show only the image of a child of God in this way, people will be amazed and come to God. Not only that, but we too will experience a special love that takes over the love of the Father in the exalted Jesus Christ.
Dear saints,
God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, for our happiness. And Jesus carried that heavy cross of peace. Let us also become truly blessed people. May you experience the presence of God and experience the grace in the exalted Jesus. May we all become purifiers and peacemakers, filled with the presence of God and the glory of Christ.
