Title: Harvest of Souls/John 4:27-39
At the end of the last part where we heard the testimony of Kwon Kang-ja Ahn, the words “harvest your souls and give them to God” were nailed deep in our hearts. We all agreed that the harvest that the Lord is most pleased with is the harvest of the soul. So we kept praying and we will keep praying for souls to be harvested.
Evangelism was the great command of Jesus, and it is what we should do. That's why I was called. The basis for the existence of the Christian world is to preach the gospel.
When Jesus told the woman he met at the well in Samaria that I was the Christ, the Messiah you had been waiting for, the woman immediately believed in Jesus, left her water jar, and ran to the town, crying that Christ had come, and the people of the town started running to Jesus. .
A field stretched out between the town and the well, and the fields had unharvested grain growing as tall as a man. But Jesus raised the heads of the townspeople running out to the field where the grain was growing. When he sees that he is descending, he tells his disciples. "Do you not say that the harvest will come in four months? But I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, and they are white for harvest." The people running out were saying that the harvest time had come.
As Jesus came to this earth, the harvest season of souls has finally begun. Knowing that those who can see the glimmer of grain on the grain are the souls to be harvested, he tells his disciples about the harvest of souls.
It is said that there is a characteristic of soul harvest.
1. The reaper has already received the wages.
Not only is it very rare to get paid up front, and if there is such a place, isn't it a good place to look? All soul harvesters have received eternal life and eternal heaven in advance. If you evangelize, I will give you eternal life and even heaven! You didn't do it, you gave it to me in advance.
“He who reaps has already received his wages” (36).
2. We reap the fruits of eternal life.
"Gathering the fruit unto eternal life" (36) The soul harvest gathers the fruit unto eternal life. So evangelism is precious. It's about saving dead souls.
3. You do not sow, and you reap what you do not put effort into.
“I have sent you to reap what you have labored for; others have labored, and you have shared in their labor” (38).
The spiritual harvest was already prepared by the servants of God long ago, but now it is the harvest season, and the disciples have been given the task of harvesting us today.
All you have to do is gather the grain you have built. All you need to do is go out and preach and reveal Christ with love.
2 Corinthians 4:6 God, who said, "Let light shine in the darkness, has shone in our hearts and has given us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." I called this "a sensor that receives the Gospel." God's chosen people have a sensor that can receive the Gospel, so if they preach it, they will receive it.
We've already installed the sensors, and we've made them believe, so we're just going to tell them.
However, this is not so easy. There is a reason evangelism is not easy.
1. The sensor that knows the light of God's glory placed on people, or the sensor that receives the Gospel, is too dull.
The rust of the world is thickly swept away. Because of the accumulation of sins, the sensor does not work at all if it is communicated for a while. So don't even budge.
2. My sensor that transmits the light of the gospel is weak.
These days, my car's remote control used to open the door with a slight push, but now I have to press it hard. It can be seen that the transmitted radio wave is greatly weakened because the battery is consumed a lot. No matter how dull an unbeliever's sensor is, it is possible if my sensor sends out a powerful radio wave.
Can you cut without working when you shoot hard!
There are two ways for a person to receive the gospel and be saved. Whether the sensor of the unbeliever is repaired very sensitively, or whether my sensor of the believer becomes powerful.
However, it is difficult to expect that non-believers will sensitively repair the sensor themselves. Of course, there are cases where God gives a powerful stimulus to come out on their own, but this is not uncommon, but it is a rare case.
The best thing to do is to make my sensors powerful so that even the dull ones work.
Why can't I evangelize? Why couldn't I evangelize? It's because the power of my sensor is too weak to support me alone, or it's because I shoot but it's too weak to activate the blunt sensor of an unbeliever.
What is the strong force to actuate a blunt sensor? Only full of the Holy Spirit.
Evangelism does not have a special method. It is the fullness of the Holy Spirit. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, signs and wonders happen, and when you give and give generously, your dull hearts will change and come to the Lord.
There is no choice but to do so. We are doing this right now, but this is because we cannot do it without a heart to love God, and we cannot do it without pouring out the essence and praying. If you are not filled with the Holy Spirit, you cannot even dare.
It's not because I want to enter a good building, but because I want many people to come and eat the bread of life, because God's chosen people from all directions want to come here and put down their hard work and heavy burdens.
These days, people don't eat well or eat well, and if possible, why not go to a church with a good atmosphere and good service? An unbeliever said 'that church is gracious' and 'filled with the Holy Spirit. Let's go' Are you sure? Those people are the believers who have moved in! Unbelievers don't. An unbeliever said, 'What if it was a shack? It's important to worship God!' would you? 'How about a mall? The heart is important!' would you? no. Rather, God is the master of heaven and earth! Church building is not everything, but it is one way to strengthen the sensor of the gospel. If you have a sense of mission to harvest souls, you have no choice but to participate.
Dear brothers and sisters, the harvest of souls is the Lord's absolute command that cannot be refused. The harvest is plentiful, and we have already been paid. You must approach them with great power. We must radiate a powerful light with the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Let's pray more diligently, obey the Word, and do our best in building the church.
"Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD is upon you. Behold, darkness will cover the earth, and darkness will cover all peoples, but the LORD will come upon you, and his glory will appear upon you. In your light that you hear, and kings come in your shining light. Lift up your eyes and look around. All the crowds gather and come to you. Your sons will come from afar, and your daughters will come in your arms. Then the light you will be happy to see. and your heart will be amazed and rejoice, for the riches of the sea return to you, and the riches of the nations come to you” (Isaiah 60:1-5).
