Title: Hate and Freedom

hate and freedom

2005-11-23

This is so that others may be at ease, not distressed, but equal (2 Corinthians 8:13).

I. background of the text

You can experience an overflow of comfort and reproach along with being educated and following the Bible. We cannot be cured by selectively accepting the truth. It is only through the painful process that the disease can be healed and made whole...

II. hate and soul

A. Crime and the Soul

When man sins, his inner help is inevitably required. In order to sin, the mind must be moved in that direction. In order to sin even though it is known that it is a sin, there must be a stronger attraction and such an action of the heart, but the good will is lacking and it turns into an evil will and at the same time the sin becomes suitable for execution. Thus the practice of sin is rooted in the workings of the man's mind and thus affects his soul. When the inclination to live according to God's will and the inclination to go in the opposite direction collide and are reflected in the mind, the person's mind is filled with confusion and there is no real peace. The reason why they do not understand their own mind well is because of a lack of unified thinking. This is the state of the sinful soul, and he has no freedom.

B. Hate and Murder

In the text, ‘hate’ is compared to ‘murder’. To hate an object is not to hate a part of the object, but to hate the very existence of the object. This is because hate or love are all collectively exercised. For example, the expression ‘enmity with God’ means ‘enmity even within God’. When you hate someone's 'being', the way to get rid of the hatred is 'murder'. Hatred stops because it is constrained by the environment, and when the constraint is removed, it develops into murder. If hatred is in us, we cannot love God. Since love has the attribute of communication, Jisoon's love for God is meant to flow toward loving people. In a believer who is filled with God's love, a heart of love that has pity on other souls grows. If this love does not communicate with each other, this is not Ji-soon's love, but only personal love. If you have a hateful heart, it affects your soul and makes Jisoon's love for God disappear. Therefore, hate and love for God cannot coexist.

1. Persistence

The seriousness of the sin of hate lies in that hate is a continual crime. The sin of hate is not of a nature that can last only for a certain period or a short period of time. Just like when you love, the person you hate always comes to mind and your face comes to mind. Therefore, they continue to commit sins. This hatred can arise toward God, and by denying the existence of God, hatred continues to work toward sinning. Even a momentary crime affects our soul, how great is the impact of a continuous crime? Because of the nature of sin, at first we choose to sin, but later, sin takes over us. Hate binds our existence. The power of hate is so powerful that it remains even after the target dies.

2. Evil impulses: no goals

However, there is no point in the direction of this hateful feeling. Even after the object of hatred has died and disappeared, there is virtually no place for strong hatred that remains.

C. Destruction of the soul

Unable to resist the urge to hate, it gives strength to evil desires, so the soul is gradually destroyed. A person who harbors hateful feelings shows that emotion on his face. In general, the fact that a person who has a deep hatred of people is more likely to suffer from various diseases does not prove how exhausted his soul is.

. forgive and love

Hate arises because someone has been hurt by an object, and the closer the relationship is to the object, the greater the hurt and the deeper the hatred. But to love someone you can only hate because you hurt yourself is more difficult than to lay down your life for someone you don't love at all. Even within the church, hate can be passed down from generation to generation. When you hate someone, the person who suffers the most from that hate is not the object of hate, but the person you hate. It is futile to try to rationalize an evil heart by doing other good deeds while harboring hatred. The characteristic of hatred is that when people are sanctioned not to hate, they choose to annihilate their own existence rather than abandon that hatred. The root of hatred is deep and deep enough to give up life in this world because of that hatred. .

It's so hard to control your mind. Forgiving him deeply is as great as devoting himself to a missionary. This is because, in order to forsake and forgive the hatred that pierces one's bones, it is only possible to completely die. When you forgive someone you truly hate, you can enjoy a surge of freedom. And the love of God fills the heart of hatred.
