Title: Have a Good Holiday
Contents Have a good festival. (3 John 1:2-4)
“Seol” means the beginning of a new year, and the etymology of this New Year’s Day is (1) found in “Seol,” the root of the word ‘unfamiliar’. That means it's a strange day. (2) The etymology is found in the word “stand”, which means “beginning”. This means that it is the beginning of a new day. As time passed, this "Sun-nae" became a new year's day. It is not known exactly when New Year's Day was considered a national holiday, but it is true that it is the nation's biggest holiday.
How to spend New Year's Eve? (1) Let us give thanks to God. When the disciples, who could not catch even a single fish all night, obeyed Jesus' command and lowered their nets and caught 153 fish, John said, "Give me!" Healthy parents, looking at their growing children and saying, “Give me!” There will be many families who are struggling financially. Still, though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive tree yields no crops, and there are no cattle in the stalls, I will rejoice in the Lord, and I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. Even if it's hard and difficult, let's give thanks to God for only one reason, the fact that He saved me. (Psalm 136) (2) I hope that it will be a holiday with the whole family. ①Let's thank our elderly parents.
