Title: Have Excellent Eyes
Contents
Excellence is "to be able to see God's things completely".
Dear true vision family, I hope that you will become a true vision family where you can discover the things of God.
I hope.
Have excellent eyes!
Bible Text: Numbers 13:30-33
One of my favorite shows as a child was a program called “The Million Dollar Man.” He was a warrior with various mechanical elements in the body of a person called “Cyborg” that had powers that ordinary people could not imagine.
I used to dream of being a million-dollar man and falling for this million-dollar man. Among them, the ability to run more than 100 kilometers per hour or to pull in a car was more enviable than that. That ability was the ability to see far away. His ability to see several kilometers away and see through walls was truly remarkable. There was a time when I was the only one imitating these abilities in my dreams, thinking that I had only these abilities.
To excel is to show or have abilities that are superior to others. It is a very valuable ability that is indispensable for modern people living in competition. This is because we are in a reality where our own abilities are not important and we can only survive if we have something superior to the other person. A frog in a well doesn't need this ability, but if you're a person who dreams of a wider world, this "excellence" is what you need.
The words of our text now stand in front of ‘Canaan,’ the land of blessing that God promised to the people of Israel in the process of Israel’s exodus from Egypt. In this process, God tells Moses to send one man from each tribe to spy out the land and come.
And from each tribe, 12 spies are appointed. They are very good characters.
We have to become people who can take on the role of a head in any place like this. It was very important to spy out the land of Canaan. It was a very important place to decide whether or not to enter the land of Canaan on behalf of all the Israelites. The 12 people who were selected for these positions now stand in a very important position that will determine the future of the people of Israel.
To become such a person, you must be able to handle the role of the head well. Of course, the appearance of serving is more beautiful. However, the 12 spies selected here had already been recognized by the Israelites. A person who can be used at that moment of an important moment is a prepared person. Those who can take on the role of head are prepared. I hope you have this preparation as well. I hope that you will come to God in a prepared state. There are opportunities God gives us. If you want to be fully used at that opportunity, please prepare fully from now on. Please be prepared for everything we can. God's opportunity comes to those who prepare.
The 12 spies, recognizing their role and importance, went into the land of Canaan for 40 days to spy out.
The 40 days of spying will yield different results. Only Joshua and Caleb can take possession of the land, while the other 10 spies are of the opinion that the land cannot be taken.
We have to think about the purpose of God sending those 12 spies in this scene. God had already led the Israelites to Canaan, the land of blessing, and had a purpose to give them the land of Canaan. Then, what did Hanani want them to see when they entered the land of poverty?
He wanted to see that the land was the blessing God had given to him in Canaan.
Like this, there are times when God allows us to do something and asks us questions about it. Why did God send me here? In the question asked, we must discover God's purpose.
To discover the perfect purpose and to discover God's will is to find light in darkness, and to find peace in pain and difficulties. If we do not discover the perfect will of God, the tunnel of darkness will be longer and difficulties and suffering will occupy a larger place in our lives. I hope you find your full purpose.
God gives us a chance, but I want you to have God's eyes to fully choose that opportunity.
There were two types of poverty-stricken land.
one look
It was Canaan, the land of blessings that anyone could see, flowing with salt and honey. It was such a beautiful land. It was a land that anyone wanted to enter. The land that God was going to give to the Israelites was a very beautiful land. Aren't we looking at this land too?
the second look
There were huge inhabitants and numerous enemies who inhabit the blessed land. It was a very beautiful land, but there were residents who seemed to be unable to overcome the challenge there. How strong these inhabitants seemed was a big obstacle when they compared themselves to grasshoppers.
In order to take on God's promises and covenants, we have the difficulty of making these choices every day. However, what God wanted them to see was not the huge inhabitants, but the beautiful Canaan flowing with salt and honey that God would give them.
If there is a land of Canaan that God wants to give to all of you who have believed so far, please look at that land first. That land is the land you will take.
There is a great land of Canaan that God has given us in our lives. It is the land of heaven. Even on this earth and after death, we can enter and live in the Canaan that God has given us.
However, if the inhabitants of the land occupying the land of Canaan look bigger, like the story of the ten spies in today's text,
“The land which we had scoured was blasphemed, saying, The land we have scoured and searched for is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people we have seen there are of great stature.”
They think of the difficulties they are experiencing and the difficulties they will face rather than the promised land that God has given them.
You cannot receive God's perfect promises from these people. Even if it is difficult and difficult right now, you must have faith to take possession of the land that God has sent. God is not trying to give us difficulties and hardships right now, but He wants to bring blessings to the earth.
What looks big to you? I hope you will see the promised land that God will give us. Later, these ten spies are killed by God's discipline. They did not enter the promised land of God.
However, through today's text, two people with “clear eyes” appear. This is Joshua and Galel.
It was the same as God had shown them, but they saw God's promises and God's power greater than the inhabitants.
And I confess this. They told them that God had left and that God had told us to take possession of the land.
They seemed far away, but they had “one eye” to see the things of God.
I sincerely hope that you and I will have such outstanding eyes.
Such open eyes will come to those who go forward while acknowledging the sovereignty of God. Do you guys feel like a grasshopper because there are so many inhabitants?
Please change your mind now. The grasshopper is what we think of as difficulty or darkness.
With the ability to see once more, I hope that you and I will become a true vision family with ‘excellent eyes’.
I hope.
