Title: Have One Heart/Philippians 2:1-4
Be of one mind (Philippians 9)
Philippians 2:1-4
“Therefore, if there is any admonition in Christ, if there is any comfort in love, or any fellowship of the Holy Spirit, if there is any mercy or mercy, be of one mind, have the same love, be of one mind, be of one mind, and do nothing out of strife or vanity; Let each of us consider others better than ourselves in lowliness of mind, / each looking after his own business, but also looking at the business of others, so that my joy may be full.”
Today's text can be viewed as an extension of a life worthy of the gospel we saw in the past.

living in grace
1. Appearance of saints (1)
“Therefore, if there is any exhortation in Christ, if there is any comfort in love, or any fellowship of the Holy Spirit, if there is any mercy or mercy”
This is speaking of the virtues that believers must keep in the church. It is not obtained through the ethical nobleness of the individual saints, but only when we live in union with Christ in Christ.
It speaks of the field of our spiritual life that has been changed in Christ.
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. It is talking about the way of life that a new creature should have.
Things that did not exist before we believed must be in us today. In verse 1, Paul records how we are transformed after we believe.
“If there is” is to be “one on the basis of being” and “on the basis of being”.
① Counsel in Christ
The saints should say encouraging words to the saints if possible. It is to be praised and encouraged in Christ. It refers to not only teaching and warning in Christ with the Word of God, but also comforting and encouraging those who are weak in faith or who are in temptation so that they can stand firm in Christ. We are good at rebuking. Very bitter about the faults of others. But he is very generous with himself. However, the believer should never forget the counsel through comfort, praise, and encouragement in Christ.
The world recklessly criticizes and criticizes them, but believers must do what they exhort and build up in Christ.
Although Jesus harshly criticized the disobedient, he did not forget the exhortations to “repent,” “watch and pray,” “love,” and “bear fruit.”
However, this exhortation must be based on the Word.
(2 Timothy 3:16) Because “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.”
Saints are to exhort each other to “build up” one another in Christ.
② Consolation of love
Just as Christ loved the church, and just as Paul loved the Philippians, the comfort of love must exist in the church and among the saints.
(2 Corinthians 1:3-5) “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the God of mercy and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our afflictions, that by the comfort we receive from God, we He is able to comfort them. / As the sufferings of Christ abound for us, so our comfort abounds through Christ.”
Please believe that God's great comfort has already come to us who have believed in Jesus and have been saved. No matter how big a problem we have among us, please believe that the love of Christ can sufficiently comfort our pain.
Now, Christians also need to comfort a brother who is weak in spirit and body with love for one another. But today, as selfishness prevails in the church, we see the brothers enjoying the pain and sorrow of their brothers, accepting them as a story, and showing their indifference.
As a saint loved by Christ, I hope that you will become a church and saints overflowing with the comfort of love.
③ The fellowship of the Holy Spirit
All Christians baptized in Jesus have received the gift of the Holy Spirit.
(Acts 2:38) “Peter said to him, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
(1 Corinthians 3:16) “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”
(1 Corinthians 6:19) “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not yours?”
Each member of the church, the body of Christ, needs different members and must live an interdependent life that benefits each other. We must share fellowship in obedience to the work of the Holy Spirit.
What is the difference between a gathering of Christians and a gathering of non-believers?
In fact, it's almost identical. However, it is a fact that there is fellowship of the Holy Spirit in Christian gatherings.
The church is clearly a body. But in it there is the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. If the church does not have the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, it cannot be said to be the true church, the church that is the body of Christ. The fellowship of the Holy Spirit takes place through prayer, fellowship, and the Lord's Supper.
④ Mercy and mercy
Compassion refers to sympathy or affection that originates from love, and mercy is an external expression that originates from compassion.
Christians are to be merciful and merciful to the weak and those in need.
(James 2:13) “There will be judgments without mercy to those who show no mercy, but mercy triumphs over judgment.”
Today, there is a movement to send corn to North Korea throughout the church.
Today, a blood donation movement is taking place throughout the church.
Also, there is a movement for sisterhood relationship with defectors and Korean churches.
All of this is based on compassion and mercy. The church and the saints should always show mercy and mercy toward the weak and those who reach out to me.
The saints should always be overflowing with counsel in Christ, the comfort of love, the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, and compassion and mercy.
2. What does it mean to have one heart? (2)
The essence and character of one mind
(Philippians 2:2) Be of the same mind, of the same love, of one accord, of one mind,
① Be of the same mind - It means to be united in thought and will. It speaks of unity in attitude and will.
There is a saying called Dong Sang Dream.
Example) A fight caused by a choir gown
Red = blood of Jesus, blue = symbol of peace
There is a story of a church that has become a battle and has become an important number of teeth. It doesn't matter what color robe you wear, but how to sing a song that pleases God, isn't it more important?
Yes) There are such problems in the ministry of the church as well.
The pastor emphasizes missionary work and prayer, and puts all effort into missionary work and prayer.
Where will the church go if the church's lay leaders only put effort into decorating the church and equipping the church with equipment?
Ex) In a war, what would happen if the commander shouted “go forward” and the soldiers did not go out? You lose.
The church and the saints should always have the one meaning of the glory of Christ and the salvation of souls,
It must be done through prayer and evangelism.
② have the same love
When the saints abid in the love of Jesus Christ and love only the Lord, they can have one heart. We must embrace the love of Christ. If some love money, love honor, and some have the love of Christ, the church cannot become one. In other words, when the saints live a Christ-centered life, they love each other and can be united in the love of Christ.
③ By uniting the will - We must become one in the goal.
'For one soul'
'To glorify the Lord'
Church Growth - One Goal
Family happiness is also accelerated when the will is united.
the growth of the class
④ Be of one mind
(Ephesians 4:4-6) “There is one body and one Spirit, so you were called in one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God. Father, you are above all, you unite all, and you are in all.”
If your goals are the same, you should have the same posture. Even if the goal is the same, if we do not have one mind, we cannot achieve anything.
Ex) The attitude of the church toward unification
progressives and conservatives
3. The attitude of one who has one heart (3,4)
① Do not do it through strife or vanity.
This is the element that destroys unity.
Vanity - "Glory or pride without content." The appearance you want to show on the outside (self-pride)
Quarrels and vanity are self-centered. The attitude we need is a Christ-centered attitude. The church is the body of Christ and we are to reveal Christ.
We must build up the body of Christ. Without prayer, strife and vanity arise.
② humble heart
Be humble with an active attitude.
Humility is the attitude of the mind that regards oneself as less than one's self-worth.
(1 Peter 5:5-6) “You young people, in the same way submit to your elders, and all of you gird yourselves with humility toward one another. God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore, humble yourself under the mighty hand of God. He will exalt you.”
Augustine said that the Christian virtues are first humility, second humility, and third humility.
The life of Jesus Christ was a life of humility itself.
Humility is thinking of yourself better than others.
(Romans 12:10) “Be kind to one another in love for one another, and put first of all respect for one another.”
(Romans 12:16) “Be of the same mind with one another, and do not set your heart on the high, but rather be lowly, and do not be wise in yourselves.”
You cannot be a teacher. Not everyone can be a pastor.
Humility is caring for others.
(Romans 12:15) “Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep”
(1 Timothy 5:8) “If anyone does not look after his relatives, especially his family, he will double the faith.
He is a rebel, and he is worse than an unbeliever.”
4 Conclusion. Paul's joy (late v. 4)
