Title: Have This Heart

Bible Text: Philippians 2:5-11
hold this heart
Have you ever heard of “how to turn last place into first place”? If you can't hear it, I'll teach you. Just “follow 100% like 1st place”. One day, a program called “The King of Study” was aired on TV. The king of study who entered Seoul National University was teaching a high school student who was almost at the bottom of the list. What the King of Study taught was “study habits and methods.” The idea is to have them memorize a few words every day and study each day the way they have been doing. If you see a person who is good at it and imitate it 100% like that person does, the last person will be number one.
There is a saying in the sports world, “the champion of the championship”. It's about a coach or player who leads a team to victory. If there is that person, the winner is sure to win, so it is called the winning contract. Winning the team is the result of following 100% of what the manager tells them to do. This is because all players moved as one with the coach's heart.
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (verse 5). Our overseer is Jesus. If we all have the heart of Jesus and act according to the word, we will become a “winner team”.
It is a humble heart.
Have this heart! The heart we should have is a humble heart. Humility is to humble oneself. It is a feeling of respect for others while at the same time seeing oneself as inferior to others. Humility is freedom from pride. Humility is not proud. Pride exalts and exalts itself. Boasting, cheeky, and arrogant. “Pride is the beginning of destruction, and a haughty heart before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18).
“He was in the form of God in the beginning, but did not consider equality with God to be robbery, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, and being made in the likeness of men” (verses 6-7)? Even though Jesus is God, that is, He is not in an equal position with God, He became a human being.
Have this heart, Jesus tells us to have a humble heart. A humble heart is like water. Water does not settle in high places. flows to a lower place. Addresses of water move from rivers to seas. Jesus came as a human from the throne of glory in heaven to the lowly and lowly earth.
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, he was riding on a colt. “He is humble and rides on a donkey, the colt of a donkey, the foal of a donkey” (Zechariah 9:9) “He does not cry, nor raise his voice, nor does his voice be heard in the streets” (Isaiah 42:2). The appearance of Jesus.
God sustains the humble (Psalm 147:6). It means lift it up. The Lord makes salvation beautiful for the humble (Psalm 149:4). Humility is beautiful. It is said that God hears the wishes of the humble (Psalm 10:17).
He said, “Every good gift and every perfect gift comes down from above, from the Father of lights…” (James 1:15). In order to receive grace, you must be humbled.
To put oil in a water bottle, you must first pour out the water. When you pour oil into an empty bottle, it becomes an oil bottle. To have the heart of the Lord, you must first empty your mind. I hope that you will cast away your rough and evil hearts and receive a soft and humble heart.
Jesus cleared his mind. He gave up his honor and glory and emptied his heart.
Please be humble. If you are humble, you gain something, but you have nothing to lose.
The seraph that Isaiah saw had six wings, which flew with two wings, and two wings to hide their face, but their wings to cover their feet (Isa. It is the seraph's humility to serve with praise.
“For this reason God highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name” (verse 9). Humility is strong without being rude. Humility is quiet even when talking. Humility is confident without being cocky. “The rude and arrogant are called vain, because they walk in excess pride” (Proverbs 22:24).
It is an ardent heart.
Have this heart! The heart we should have is an ardent heart. Jesus hates things that are neither cold nor hot. He said to the church in Laodicea, “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot; I want you to be cold or hot” (Revelation 3:15).
God wants a fervent longing rather than face or consciousness. God is looking for a place to be. Where will you be? He comes to the place of loud praise, to those who cry out in prayer. Bartimaeus prayed “with a cry” and Jesus called him (Mark 10:48). The word “shout” means to scream, to shout out loud, to shout sharply. It means to shout. Scream like a crying child for food.
The zeal of Jesus is the zeal that appears when we resist injustice. When Jesus entered the temple in Jerusalem, he saw people doing business in the temple. He drove the people out and overturned the shelves, and said to them, “My house will be called a house of prayer, but you make it a den of robbers” (Matthew 21:12-13).
It is said that the disciples remembered the saying that zeal for the temple of the Lord will consume me while watching the scene (Psalm 69:9; John 2:17). Let us use this temple as a house of fervent prayer, a house of fervent praise! If we remain silent, the stones will cry out (Luke 19:40).
Enthusiasm is the driving force that propels you up the ladder to success. If you have a tireless zeal, you have the greatest asset.
Helen Keller said, "Look to the sun and live." I did. The sun is a symbol of passion. When a person has an ardent heart, he can live life vigorously. You cannot succeed in anything unless you are passionate about your work. If you can focus on what you do, you can succeed in anything.
God is looking for a wick to burn. Oil and fire are God's. If there is only a plant, he pours oil on it and lights the fire. “I have come to cast fire on the earth, and if it were already kindled, what would I want?” (Luke 12:49) I hope that the fire that Jesus came to cast may ignite in your wicks and be fervent.
Real Christianity is fanaticism. Otherwise, Christianity is nothing. Only a burning soul can break down the barriers of difficulty and move forward. Have this heart! That is, the passionate heart of Christ Jesus. “Serve the Lord with diligence and zeal” (Romans 12:11). Please embrace the zeal of the Lord with my zeal.
It is the heart of obedience.
Have this heart! The heart we should have is a heart of submission. It's not rebellion, it's obedience. “...and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross” (verse 8). The heart we should have in Lent is a heart of submission. You have to resist the pushpin. To rebel against injustice and tyrants is obedience to God. It is rebellion against death and submission to life.
A good soldier is terrifying and strong to the enemy, but is absolutely obedient to the commander. A soldier who does not obey orders cannot be a soldier. It is faith that submits me to the will of God. Glory will be given to those who obey. What we must learn is obedience to the Lord. The strength of the church depends on how much it submits to the will of God. When the Lord overcomes me, I become obedient, and when I obey, I become powerful. We receive power when we submit to the Holy Spirit.
God asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, to test Abraham. Abraham obeyed the word. The moment the sword was struck at the bound son, the angel of God said, “Do not lay your hand on the child, for you have not withheld me, your son, your only son, and now I know that you fear God” (Genesis 22:12).
Jesus stood before the cross and prayed. “Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me. But not as I will, but as you will!” he prayed.
God didn't say anything. God has no words. I can't speak at all. Jesus knew what the Father's unanswered will was. It was an unspoken response.
Jesus obeyed God. Because it was God's will that Jesus died on the cross. When Jesus said that He would suffer and die, Peter objected. I stopped it from happening. But Jesus defeated his beloved disciple. “Get behind me, Satan, you are a stumbling block to me. You do not think about the things of God, but rather the things of men” (Matthew 6:23).
Give me a submissive heart to follow! Seek a submissive heart and be obedient.
“I want my people to obey me, and to walk in my ways, and I will quickly put control over their enemies, and turn my hand against their foes...and their days will go on forever, though they pretend to be submissive” (Psalm 81). :13-15) Even if I don't understand, please do as I say. If I obey, God will control my enemies even if I cannot strike them. enjoy eternal glory. Continually enjoy a prosperous life.
“Exalt him, and he will exalt you; if you embrace him, he will glorify you” (Proverbs 4:8) Embrace Jesus! When I embrace the heart of Jesus and my heart meets the heart of Jesus, I gain strength.
If anyone accepts Jesus and has the heart of Jesus, a new life begins. To do that, we must have the heart of Jesus. Have a humble heart and receive the reward given to the humble. Have an ardent heart and be an achievement. Have a heart of submission and do God's will. When I have the heart of Jesus, my heart changes. When my heart changes, the world changes, our family changes, and the church changes. It will be the changeable salt.
Jesus said, “He has become the name that is above all names. Every name will bow before the name of Jesus. Every tongue confessed that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of the Father (verses 9-11). If we also live with the heart of the Lord, our name will be exalted and we will glorify God.
